New 124 Spider

Personally I think it will sell Ok
Not sure on the styling, for me the fronts a bit to angry, could have been a bit more Italian, It reminds me a bit of a Mini version of my Wifes AMG SLK
I think as with many mass produced cars its designed to appeal to many markets including the US so design is always a compromise of compromises

If you've sat in one then you're probably a step ahead of most people here in the UK. From what I've seen (online video reviews), FIAT have done a good job giving an Italian flavour. The standard roadster has a slightly softer ride than the MX5, while the turbo engine has some mid-range grunt. I'm guessing a more relaxing, dare I say gentlemanly, driving experience.
The Abarth is a genuine step up, though at £30K you could undoubtedly get a 2.0 MX5 and a kit to be faster for less money. But for a turnkey experience it looks interesting.

Am I right in thinking the normal and abarth versions both have the same engine, and therefore you could remap the normal one to 170hp?
And there is probably more in it with some small hardware mods, a dutch alfa dealer did a special version of the 155 horse mito which had been upgraded to 200hp, and that was before all the fancy multi-air tech came up.Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
