If you can find a car you want on the used market.
I've been watching it closely and the numbers are dropping all the time, holding the residuals of the well speced cars up.

What carbon accessories did it have to add £5k to the price?

It's most likely a miscalculation. To get to that price on a 17 plate you'd need all the options inc the CC brakes,

It had all the carbon accessories, gearchange, wheel, front grille, illuminated sills.. seats, no carbon brakes.

If you input all of that into the configurator together with convenience pack, smart cruise control and HK you get to 70k these days. Maybe not so in 2017 that I don’t know.

I’ll test drive one when back in the country together with a C63S. I miss a good V8 and the engine might do it for me over the chassis on a daily driver. And the new C63S about to come out should have a new gearbox and infotainment so could be a decent package overall.

The C63s was my 2nd choice. Well beaten into 2nd place, but it is still a compelling car with a great engine.

It’s just that for me the engine makes the car. I bought an M2 on reviews alone.. which I think had got ahead of themselves when they first released the car... only for it to come last at ECOTY and I quickly understood why...

There was no joy in the engine. Zero. Change up at 5krpm or 7k. No rush of adrenaline up there. Zero. Flat as a panckacke. Even on spirited drives it failed to come alive like a humble 911 991.1 would.. don’t want to make the same mistake twice.

Want to properly drive the Q.V. and the C63S and decide. I hope the Alfa engine has enough soul.

It does, and the steering, gearchanges and brakes are also brilliant. It feels like a light car when you drive it and responds immediately to any input - I like very much biggrin

There is an insightful review in 3 parts by Bovingdon on drive tribe (M3/QF/c63s), there is nothing much in it between them all.

Track segment below.

Is anybody else experiencing long waiting times on a new delivery?
My QV was in build at the start of November and built by 28th Nov. The dealer told me originally they would have the car in early December, every time I contact them I get told, should be here in two weeks! But then 2 weeks pass and still no further forward.
Is this an unusually long time to wait for a new car or is it the norm? Getting bored of waiting now!

Mine had very accurate tracking from the lease company. It was about 2 weeks from built to 'at departure port', then a week later 'arrived at destination port', then a week or so later until it arrived at the dealer, then another week until it was delivered.

2 months sounds excessive from built status....hate to say, the only time I've heard of that was when a car has been damaged in transit frown

I've read on another forum that some cars were recalled due to brake fluid contamination which could have been a reason for delay but not sure if that's true, still seems like a long time to wait. Wondered if anyone else's new car had been delayed for the same reason and how long they'd had to wait.

I think a number of cars have been delayed recently but they now seem to be coming through. Hang in there!

Yes, there is a brake fluid issue, some cars are being recalled from November build. That could well be that! Should have been advised though!

If you can't find them then they ain't about. The current thought is they just aren't discounting them. Great for us who already own one.

Leasing is still throwing up the best deals.

I'm a bit surprised that I've had no response to my request for info from QF owners re their cars suffering from water dripping through the bonnet grilles ( two ) onto the engine. This has resulted in failures of the alternator and or the ECU. A pal of mine who takes delivery of his new QF early next week was told about this by his supplying dealer, and I have read about it elsewhere. It seems to apply mainly to early cars, and for some reason left hand drive QF's in particular.

If this problem has been resolved now on later cars, then I'm OK since my new car is being delivered on Friday, but nevertheless it'd still be useful to hear from other QF owners.

Just to reiterate, my June 2017 car has had no problems & talking to two dealers they don’t know of it either. It may have happened, but certainly does not seem to be anything other than an isolated incident. Enjoy your car when it comes, if you drive fast enough the rain won’t get in! biggrin

The ECUs and alternator aren't near the bonnet vents, I've never heard of any issue with bonnet vents (like others) and so I think that's BS.

As above, no idea where this was dreamt up. The bonnet vents don't let water go anywhere untoward.

Also, why would a dealer actively scupper a sale on a car that the brand are working hard to get on the road? Makes no sense, much like the story.
