Its almost the exact same spec I am waiting for. If it's on the dealer network then surely my dealer will be able to see it on the list of incoming cars..?
PM sent.

RSK - And you bought an E63S Estate? A bit of a tangent....

Love the E63 though, great car!

I did.

Needed to be something practical and as lovely as the 911 is it just seemed to much of a compromise in various areas.

Wouldn’t entertain a C63 as I would be forever comparing it to the Quad.
Why the change from the 911T?

A rare outbreak of common sense GF.

Two growing kids and two ageing sets of parents mean that proper back seats are needed. That plus the fact that my daily car ends up in station and airport car parks a lot and would attract more attention than a grey estate car. I came to the conclusion that despite its relative practicality vs other sports cars the 911 is still too much of a compromise. I may yet end up regretting that !

You need to get the car YOU WANT. I've done the compromise/ticks all the practicality boxes thing before and regretted it. If it's not your first choice because you really want it then you will end up getting rid of it fairly soon. Granted the E63 is a fantastic car but is it your top choice or just one that ticks the boxes?
Whatever you choose enjoy it. It's been a pleasure conversing with you on AO and here.

Thanks Smarty

I think I have made the right choice under the circumstances.

Couldn’t bring myself to buy a direct competitor to the Quad as I would constantly, and unfavourably, compare it.

One of the dads at school has just picked up a beautiful looking M3 CP. He's had it 3 weeks and admitted this morning he drives past my car every morning wishing he hadn't discarded the QV solely because he didn't want to look like a copycat.

Wonder where ‘Rosanne’ is - should’ve picked the car up last week, apparently.
Unless it’s had water ingress through the vents and won’t start...

Here

Not sure why everybody on this thread is denying the water on the ECU problem, it did exist and it was resolved. Though some cars still haven't had a fix as they seem to be immune to it.

Nobody is denying the water on the ECU issue. We are denying the water through the bonnet vents onto the alternator and ECU issue. That is just plain made up guff!

There is another thread. She/He/They got the car.
Can we please move on from it as the other thread already has all the details and we don't need 2 threads sniping at random on the 'tinterweb.

Read with interest the above re 911 vs Q.V. Especiallg as I come from a string of 911s and thinking for a change to go for the Alfa as a daily driver.

I can tell you for a fact that the Carrera T is not the no brainer non depreciating asset you guys make it out to be. It’s just a variation of the Carrera for more money. It’s not a better drive and has nothing special except for allowing you to spec RWS on a base Carrera. It will depreciate like all other 911s just a bit less than the average car. But in absolute terms it might equal or exceed the amounts suffered on the Alfa.

If you want to suffer less depeciation go for a 991.1. Last n/a engines. Or even better the GTS version of that car. Best car of the series and last n/a. I have a n/a 991.1 after many much more special cars and the engine is still so sublime in everyday situations.

But fancy a change and the Alfa really appeals the Italian in me. I will PM you re that rosso competizione

Isn't the previous generation 911 always the better one? For as long as I can remember anyway...

This time I do understand though as it's the Turbo no Turbo thing.

Collected my new QV at the weekend after months of waiting.
Only done 150 miles in it so far but one thing I've noticed is how high it seems to be sitting, the dealer says it should settle down a bit after 500 miles or so but it seems unlikely somehow. Surely it should sit at the correct ride height from new?
Do they all sit a bit high when new?
At first I thought it still had the transport blocks still in but the dealer says it doesn't.
My last one was an ex demo with 5,000 miles on it and it definitely sat a lot lower than this.

Not sure how well this picture shows how high it is.

Does look a little higher than mine (photo taken in November, c4,000miles.... I'm sure the springs shouldn't need to 'bed in', but maybe they do?

A friend of mine has just collected his QV and I pointed out that it looked like it was sitting too high - pretty much the same as your car. Did think it was odd. So may be it's normal?

This was my last one which sat a lot lower but this had 5k miles on when I got it.
Don't understand why my new one is so high, has anyone collected a new one recently or remember theirs being high when it was new?
I can't see how it's suddenly going to drop to the correct height. Is it possible the dealer hasn't done something before delivery which would effect the height?
