I know everyone loves a manual box, but i can't see where it would show any benefit on this car. The autobox is fantastic.
Having lived with it for 2 months and 3000 miles I absolutely love this gearbox - a manual would be like going back to the stone age in this car.

Just spent a weekend doing 600 very hard driven miles through Wales in the car in the company of a 458, Boxster Spider and Vantage S, the QF easily kept up and was a topic of conversation on every fuel stop.

Auto box was fantastic and I have to say really suits the car.

How did you find the interior?

I've been to look at one and am test driving tomorrow. Loved the look of the exterior but was a little disappointed with the relatively low rent feel of the interior.

Stitched leather, hand-laid carbon fibre, alcantara, properly integrated hi-fi/satnav, minimal fiddly controls. Not what I'd call low-rent.

Although the volume and cruise adjustment buttons on the steering wheel look the same as a Fiat 500 to me!

And the volume buttons don't work when the engine is off lol

When you do turn it back on to adjust the volume shoots up to where you'd been trying to move it to ha!

There are many gorgeous bits, cf, leather and alcantara, coloured stitching in the leather door tops, nice feel to the he steering wheel allied to incredible steering feel, sensibly spaced pedals and comfortable seats. Infotainment system is fine, easy to use if a bit limited in functionality compared to others specifically because it has no data enabled functions and annoyingly for somebody who likes to do planned trips no ability to import routes.

Under hard driving I indentified a few squeaks but think these can be rectified easily Lower door trims and bins are very plastic and reverberate when the, imo, pretty poor stereo is on at anything above 7/10. Again this can in part be fixed and I'm thinking of changing the speakers for better quality aftermarket to reduce the fizz and reverberation.

In short it's a nice place to be but more importantly it's a brilliant and as do mean brilliant car to drive. Much more engaging than my last three daily drivers of Macan Turbo, M5 and ClS63 AMG. Reminds me more of my n/a C63 in terms of its feeling of specialness and general buzz but much much faster.

Highly recommended!

Ref the audio quality: I found the same until I banged all my high quality files on a flash drive and ran it one of the usb slots. Much better! Could be down to the file more than the system.

Good point - I need to get my FLAC files on to test.

Thanks.

Looking forward to the test drive.

I am going to be a member of the fold very soon.
Can any owners recommend a reputable tuner who is accessible from Twickenham, West London. I'm keen to explore the exhaust flash and remap.
I spoke to Lichfields where I had my GR-R worked on. However, they haven't developed anything yet and wanted my car to develop one on which I wasn't keen on.
I tried calling 'Lusso' in Horsham but they don't answer the phone!
Any help would be gratefully received.

There aren't many maps available at the moment because accessing dyno mode requires a diagnostic tool and not everyone wants the expense. Evolve are just about to map a car following the purchase of said tool and NJS already have a map which is the market first in the UK. Pogea in Germanyare the leaders as far as the QF is concerned but it's not easy getting them to map your car as they are not just round the corner.

DMS will map soon I'm sure, as will Renntech. Autolusso aren't ready for the QF by their own admission.

Give it a month or two and we'll see something worth the money.

For accuracy the NJS map was developed by Celtic Tuning who Dyno developed it using their own car.

You are indeed accurate. Also a reason why I'll wait until the rest of the market providers get their products out. Nothing against Celtic, other than what I've heard through previous ownerships.
