That was my experience in early 2017 too. Dealers often have their own allocation, and not all dealers could "see" all cars.

My local dealer was most miffed when I ordered from another dealership further away, but they had the colour and spec that I wanted, might have been a cancelled order.

My local dealer only had access to 2-3 cars that all seemed to be rather odd spec and seemed to make a bit of a meal out of it, I even suggested that I was happy for him to ring the other dealership and transfer so that I could buy locally, or ring around to find me one, but he wasn't keen. I suppose it's not surprising that where I bought my car from (dealership that was further away) wanted to sell direct to me.

I would appreciate it if any of you guys would share the deal you got in here. Would give me something to aim for while negotiating with the dealer.

Cheers.

Dave.

Pricing and deals have all been changed over the year. Recently a lot of the funding got pulled from the friends and family deals and the dealer contribution. I'm told it's to stop the brokers humping the money out of the main dealers with their big discounts. Dealers can't be expected to offer a service if they can't afford to run the establishment..

Looking at these now.. after one with sparco seats. Ideally red but can look at other colours.. if you know of any for sale at reasonable price that are not one of the early ones do let me know... allegedly no cars in stock at the moment with sparco. One that was for sale west of London just went this week.

Reason for choosing the sparcco seats?

Black one with carbon seats at Variava’s didn’t hang around for long!
3 weeks max.

Saw it a few weeks ago and really is a stunning looking car.

That would be my question.
Sat in both and the standard seats were better. More room in the back too.

Just looks a bit more purposeful and special I guess with the carbon buckets... but yes probably should keep open mind.. the one at Thames Motor Group was there for a while.. by the time i got round to phone them after the end of year festivities and busy January start.. it sold this week.

Allegedly they don't have any other Sparco car in the country and it would be order from new.. which is good as you get the 2018MY but given the crazy depreciation this particular example had suffered.. is not reassuring. Sold at 55k and list at 71k+ new....

So might be a better option to put aside Sparco want and check for others in stock..

Don't forget the Giulia has had 2 price increases since 2016 as well as option price hikes. If it was a 66 or early 17 plate the car would more likely have been mid £60k, unless the carbon ceramics were also on the list.

Depreciation wise they are holding better than both the BMW and Merc competitors.

I can't load the configurator on my mobile but that My17 black car had
Carbon Pack (Inc seats,grill,sills,gear)
HK sound
Smoked alloys
Red calipers
Convenience pack

Today would be about £66k. Unless there are options I can't see.

Also remember the Sparco seats are manual only. If you want electric seats you'll have to get the standard ones (which are lovely by the way). Standard ones have electrically adjustable side bolsters too.

Didn’t know the prices had gone up so much. It was a June 2017 car. With all the carbon accessories it had on, I get to approximately 70k.

So at 55-57k (or likely less as it’d been for sale for a while now) it’s at least 20% off for a 900 miles car which is chuncky. I should have moved faster I guess.

It's not that chunky when you consider what the alternative M3 is worth. They are knocking off 20% list when new so the Alfa is doing well.

I opted for the electric seat pack instead, I value greater movement, comfort, memory and heating more than the view from the back seats wink

You will always lose more on a heavily specced car. From memory the QF was £59k at launch and quickly went up £2k, it then went up a few hundred quid due to the VED changes. I test drove one when I had my M3 Competition Pack and was very impressed, I knew before I got out of the dealers carpark it was better than my M3. However the nagging reliability doubts on the early cars and unknown residuals prevented me ordering one. As a comparison I traded my M3 after one year for £48k, the list price was £65500 and I had paid £55k, so I was pretty happy with that. The QF would have cost me around £60k in March last year, that was with a light spec and about 5% discount, as 2017 cars are now selling for £50k I'd imagine they will trade at £45k, so that would mean a £15k loss in 10 months. M3/M4 values have also been hammered recently due to loads of pre reg cars so I sold mine at the right time. A slightly used QF at £50k is good value and is where I'd be looking if buying today.
