The Alfa Romeo 4C lease thread

Yeah same for me, week 22 I think they said for a build week, plus whatever for shipping and prep.
I did ask also about whether I could add any options but was told it was too late.
Just a case of sit and wait I think! If it turns up, then good news! If not... then I have saved some money haha
Yeah, it's crunch time for my decision on how long to extend my current lease to - a choice of mid-March or mid-May. I did ask also about whether I could add any options but was told it was too late.

I'm optimistic that the 4C will appear before May so I'm considering mid-March. By then, we'll at least have some more clarity and I can buy something cheap to keep me going if the delay is longer.

Wouldn’t mind it coming sooner, just bought a cheap run around as my current lease wanted nearly 66% more in monthly cost to extend for 3 months!I'm optimistic that the 4C will appear before May so I'm considering mid-March. Hopefully I won’t even lose a penny on the car I bought but I’d rather not be driving it!
I know some people have already asked this very point, but...
I got ar$ed about by a number of dealers when the semi cheap deals were floating about (the circa £350 a month ones) and constantly got offered leases around the £500 mark.
Too rich for a third car.
However, an itch I still keep returning to.
If anyone has a lease deal pending that they want to get out of (I know- slim chance) because of a change in circs, or delivery uncertainty is causing a problem, I MAY be interested in taking it on.
I understand it’s a simple process to transfer leases and shouldn’t involve any cost.
PM me if any interest to anyone.

You need to turn PMs on in your settings. I would still be tempted to part with my anniversary spider. Slightly higher cost per month ar £400 but it’s a fully specced car. I love it and still enjoy driving it as a daily but I’ve picked up a project car and have started plans for a silly roadtrip next year so it’s starting to make less sense to keep it. Drop me a PM if you want more info.I got ar$ed about by a number of dealers when the semi cheap deals were floating about (the circa £350 a month ones) and constantly got offered leases around the £500 mark.

Kananga on here leased one & liked it so much he bought one so I think still has 2, He was looking at letting the lease one go if anyone was interested, see the last post on page 39 of this thread for his details I got ar$ed about by a number of dealers when the semi cheap deals were floating about (the circa £350 a month ones) and constantly got offered leases around the £500 mark.

I moved mine on yesterday to a fellow PH member and Alfa nut.
Superb car, an absolute riot to drive. Went for one last (traffic filled) roof hoon in the morning. Annoyingly my barsteward action cam didn’t record it as intended. Despite the dodgy weather it was still fun but if anyone is running theirs over winter I strongly recommend some all weather or winter tyres.
6 months and 4000 fun miles. From roof off blasts in the Yorkshire Dales -
to mudane supermarket trips -
I’ll miss it but felt it was time for a change. I’m in the process of restoring a 1986 Honda Civic which will eat up funds to get it to where I want and I’m also planning a several thousand mile road trip next winter so I’ll be saving up for a V8 Land Cruiser.
In the meantime my new hack is just as extreme but in the opposite end of the spectrum -

I have just received a call from Thames Motor Group saying my 4c has been built and is currently on its way to the UK. Not long ago I was told that delivery would be May 2018 due to delayed production, so if anyone else ordered one from Thames on lease, you may want to follow up.
Interesting! Shall give them a call next week about mine. I actually hope mine isn't early now, would be quite annoying as I have just bought something to tide me over until May / June.Pulse00 said:
So Thames told me there's four of us waiting on the 249pm deal. Is it just us then?

That's strange. I'd have guessed the number to have been higher - but I suppose it wasn't active on their site long before being raised to £349 and again to current prices.Marathonic

I've had no update either but haven't been chasing since being told it was assigned a May build date but would likely come sooner.
Ideally, I'm hoping it comes before March 13th as I'm currently on an informal lease extension with VWFS and that's the last date I can hand the car back.
Still can't wrap my head around those figures, so so cheap. If for some crazy reason someone wants out of their deal please drop me a PM.
As I missed out I've been toying with the idea of buying a 4C - it would seem 35K will get you a relatively nice example. How do people see the values of these going forward the next year or two? (Apologies that it is a bit of a crystal ball question!)

The values thing is tricky because cheap lease deals suggest dive, the fact most of them have been for sale for ages with nothing moving suggests dive but the sheer number of them around would suggest the opposite. I don’t think they will ever get to the point where you can get free motoring like the Boxster Spyder etc because I think the rawness scares the average motorist. For me, as I’ve said before in here they fall between two stools, not quite a Lotus for the purists and nowhere near a Cayman for the average driver. I personally wouldn’t put my money in one unless it was one of these cheap leases.
