Just back onto the cars my order is still on status 16 fix. Seems to have been stuck on that for 6 weeks or more.
Alfa have a suitably vague Italian way of dealing with dates, Alfa UK struggle so your dealer has no chance , just know when it arrives you will forgive them

I did laugh when I asked someone in Alfa UK about how many ‘status’ levels there are. He responded that it depends how many Alfa Italy want to use! ??

Mine has been confirmed as built. Now to wait as they ship 6 cars together....

ETA : I’m thinking of buying the 18&19” alloy upgrades but is there a market for the standard 17&18” wheels to recoup some of the cost. I doubt they would fit on other cars?

Lease car? You need to store the 17/18's and put them back on when you return the car. I bought a set of Titan 7 18/19's and will put the 17/18's on in the winter so that I at least use some of the tread, otherwise seems a waste!

Oh of interest are the option wheels on the 4C (all different versions) true black or a sort of anthracite colour like my current Giulia QF style alloys? The configurator lists the option wheels as ‘dark’ finish.

They certainly look anthracite but I’m sure Alfa call it a different colour, perhaps Grigio grey? The 4C brochure says the option wheel is ‘dark aluminium’.

I'm sure they will be whatever colour Alfa has kicking around at the time.

I used Grigio to blend in a small scuff on my wheel and was a perfect match - think I posted some details up much earlier in this thread!

I love it. Even love it's flaws... other than one. I read all about the tramlining, alignment issue and Jamie's blocks that rectify it and I thought I'm sure everyone is just being oversensitive! It's bloody annoying. At motorway speeds I feel like the car could dive in any direction at any moment! Feels like one of the front wheels is lose, or that the wind it constantly blowing the car one direction to the next. Its quite unsettling to be fair! It's a 2 hands on the wheel and full concentration sort of car on the motorway!

The dealership also forgot (unless it was a manufacturing mistake) to add the free options of cruise control and rear parking sensor so I'm quite frustrated by that. It's near impossible to reverse park without my passenger getting out and guiding me. Dealership said they will retrofit the sensors if they can but I'm anxious about the quality of a retrofit vs factory job.

Anyway on the plus side, got new wheels on the way, new tyres (Michilen PS4) and might order the AlfaWorks ecu and exhaust soon. Going to ceramic coat the car with Gtechniq Crystal serum and EXO soon too.

Only done 400 miles so far so not even put my foot down yet as running it in. 'Raced' my mate in his clio 182 and I changed gear at 4k every change and beat him by a good few cars so I have faith the car's going to be quick =)

Re steering , Jamie’s mod will help.

As it stands at the moment take a leap of faith and loosen your grip, let it wander a little but be prepared to intervene if it try’s to completely take over, gripping the wheel tight and fighting every twitch is tyring , especially on long journeys .

The newer cars , well mine at least was far better than my first one 4 years ago but I’ve still let Jamie tame it a little

Appreciate the advice buddy =) How much does Jamie charge for his labour for blocks/exhaust etc? Ideally I'd do it all myself as then could return to standard easier in couple of years and then claw back some dollar reselling.

Feel your pain regards the parking sensors. I was fortunate to be able to add mine late in the day (alongside the cruise control which I’m not arsed about really).

Shame to hear that the tramlining is still an issue however. I was told this was practical sorted in 2016 + cars.

I enjoyed the erratic nature of the steering. Made it a handful but kept me on edge whenever I went out for a spirited drive.

The 4C lease deal has ruined me. After I moved mine on I ran a Renault Zoe for 6 month but recently switched to a Lexus ISF. Sadly the ISF doesn’t excite me, I know I’m comparing apples to oranges but the 4C felt like an occasion at any speed. Guess I need to ditch the ISF and start saving for something suitable.

Was it a Leasys deal for the 4C? If so how did you fair with any charges when the car was returned? I’ve read a few horror stories on people being charged a fair bit for seemingly ‘general wear and tear’ things.

Yup Leasys but I moved it on 6 months in to a fellow PHer so no idea on the return charges I’m afraid.

Ah no problem.

How anyone had an experience regards this with Leasys?

Also, I have a GAP waiver within my lease deal. Does this mean I dont have to worry about a shortfall payout on insurance should the worst happen?

(Eta : I didn’t really get too into the details of the lease ; I just did what all good pertrokheads should do. Saw the deal, signed up and then worried about whether it would fit in the garage! biggrin

Novated the lease on my 4C spider last week.

Really miss the car but glad it has gone to a new owner, and i have the coupe to use!

Can't think of a deal like this lease deal that has ever come up before.

Sincere thanks to all the pistonheads who contributed to this thread!
