These Aniversary Spiders took a long time to sell didn't they?

One of my clients has number 3 and he picked that up a good 9-12 months ago.
They have suddenly all been sold because of the crazy contract hire deal !

Next week can't come quickly enough!
Did that just get driven out of the lorry in the background? If so, I thought they were all coming individually on a single car transporters or have I been thrown a curved ball again?

Be interesting to see what happens to used 4c prices in 24 months when they are all returned and flood the market!

Possibly. I think they had more than one 4C delivered today. Makes no sense to ship them on individual transports.

Just had the call from Paul at Chris Variava, mine has arrived today. Due to be collecting it next week, can't wait!
Congrats!

I'm still waiting in the hope that the coupe offer from Thames comes through as promised. Otherwise, it's back to looking at the IS-F and RC-F.

Aaah but my dealer's excuse for not knowing when anything would arrive was because they were transported singly on flatbed style transporters, have I caught them out telling porkies?

Fingers crossed. If not, the ISF is a brilliant allrounder. I still miss the exhaust note of mine.

I'll have an definite answer for you by Tuesday but I was told by my dealer when it was on it's way and a rough lead time of 3-5 working days.

They are normally on a full artic transporter however if your dealer is a fair distance up north and it's their only delivery (for example) it would make sense to put it on a single transporter as opposed to an artic with just one car...

Just had my finance approved and have been told to sit tight till the car is built.

All seems fine and well from Thames.

Happy days.

Good point. Still, the dealer should still have a better lead time. I paid my deposit last Thursday (15th June) and was given a lead time of 2 weeks but was told it would probably be here earlier. It arrived at the dealer this Thursday (22nd June) so it took half the time stated. It's strange for CVL to say they have no idea when the cars are arriving.

Good news. Fingers crossed it all goes through. I've spent the past few weeks watching any and every 4C relate video on Youtube and the coupe design has grown on me. A black coupe with the regular lights and the dark 5 spokes would look spot on.

Both of mine came from Italy on a single car transporter & I gather that's how most if not all come & from experience delivery from Alfa in Italy seems to be very difficult to pin down to dates so your dealer may be struggling with that one, if anyone's got one due shortly push for it, Alfa like most of Italy shut for a month in the summer & they seem to take time to wind down & back up before & after.

Hi mate, could I just ask a couple of questions about timescales? I put my order in on the 12th of June, received the sales order finance quote and prop form, filled in the form and sent back etc. I haven't had a deposit taken yet or heard anything about the finance being agreed. How long did it take for yourself and did you put a deposit down prior to the finance being agreed?

Cheers, Jamie

Hi Jamie,

15/06/2017 - Deposit paid and initial spec done
21/06/2017 - Spec finalised and finance details taken
22/06/2017 - Finance approved and finance documents signed (Hire Agreement)

That's all for now.

Thanks for that, really appreciated!

I'm concerned my journey has been somewhat different and for whatever reason I can't get them to take a deposit off me!?

Think I may need to chase Peter up and find out what's going on?

The initial cheap deal offered by Thames has disappeared and the current advertised offer is this one -

That's on a factory order car with no options by the looks of things.

In stock cars are advertised here - http://www.thamesmotorgroup.co.uk/alfa-romeo/new-c... but the prices are higher than the original deal from a few weeks ago.

There are conflicting reports on the availability of the offer and if the advertised price will be honoured. When I spoke with Thames a few weeks back they told me that they had tripled checked the deal with Alfa UK HQ to make sure it was valid. In the end they didn't have any anniversary spiders left so I went with Chris Variava instead.

So does anyone have an idea what's actually happening to the 4c ??

All I can establish is that none are being made at the moment and dealers can't place orders , beyond that there's so many conflicting stories

There's talk of a series 2 and the production line being updated , saw that in an earlier post on this thread

On the US forums they talk of new legislation coming in and crash tests to be passed or air bag issues to resolve and some say the 4C production is finished

Alfa seemed keen to get rid of the last of the anniversary cars , now is that dumping stock before the news comes out ?? If production had ended I can only see prices going up so the last cars would have sold so to me that points to the revised model.

I've really no idea

Does anyone else have any known facts they care to share ??

Nobody knows and anything stated is just rumour not fact. There has been talk of -

A facelift
Revision to use a bigger 2.0 engine
Cancellation in 20MY

None of which have been confirmed although the cancellation has been denied. It has also been confirmed that none are being built at the moment and I believe that has been the case for the last 12 months pretty much with the anniversary cars built around this time last year still for sale.

I wouldn't bank on the price going up. That very much depends on demand being greater than the small supply and at the moment there are far too many 4c on the market for that.

I heard the same about potential model cancellation but who knows what the truth is. Guess we may find out later this year.

On a related note, has anyone had experience of buying cars at the end of the lease term? I know that the person who leased can't buy (for tax reasons) but it doesn't stop a family member from buying.

Just wondering if the lease companies are happy to let them go at attractive/trade prices ?
