Thames called me about a week ago just to say everything was all ok and looking good.

Have no reason to think otherwise as I had already expressed my concerns and he said don't listen to anything unless it's from him...
I'm also in this camp. Been told everything is going to plan and there is nothing to worry about. This was straight from the car dealers (Thames) mouth. We all know car dealers don't lie.

In case anyone is interested, I am buying a 4C coupe (am totally smitten with the model).

I leased a white 4C spider and will either run it along side the other coupe or could be tempted to novate the lease in case anyone is interested.

If so, drop me an email ! Car is still as-new (<350 miles).
If anyone's worried why not have a chat with Kanaga, there's a car here for the taking, Worth a chat at the very least

Thx Stuart.

Certainly a very genuine offer. The car is incredible and only offering as i am buying one from the same dealer that supplied the lease car.

No worries if there isn't interest, will just use up the mileage allowance and save the miles on the car I've bought!

These cars are incredible - would highly recommend to anyone.

Btw - i don't think Thames will be in a position to confirm the great finance deals to everyone who has applied. I had approached them also, and was originally told all would be confirmed by end June. Still being told all is subject to Alfa confirming, so I don't think they are bound to provide cars on the super lease terms. For those who are expectint cars, i hope you get the deals that were promised.

I suppose I'll be completely at ease and confident my vehicle is coming when I receive confirmation that the build has begun. I believe builds are due to start in September.

Considering this is my first time doing the PCH/PCP/Finance thing I must say the speculation on this thread causes me more doubt than the dealer would let on. Since my deposit was placed and spec finalised I have not heard a word from Thames.

Anyway if the 4C doesn't materialise the new VW Up GTI is tickling my fancy hehe

That's an odd comparison, 113 bhp in a heavier car with seats that look like they are made out of an old Kilt against Italian designed leather , lets hope you get the 4c, its better for your soul

How easy is it to novate a lease? What about payments already made? I'm interested! (Even though it's white!)

What is the monthly rental and how many miles is it based on? Cheers, Alex.

I'm told there is a bit of admin and they will need to credit score whoever assumes the lease (makes sense as they do the same when taking out the lease). My monthlies are fairly low (£260 from memory) but I paid a large amount upfront to reduce the overall cost over the two years. The car also has the Alfaworks handling mod which will be free to whoever takes the lease over (saving of £450 for a highly recommended mod).

The person I spoke to at the lease company seemed to suggest that they've done it before.

ETA: 8k miles p/a

It's either a 4C next year or a Cayman S 981 a couple of years later. Up GTI would just be a cheap laugh in between.

Does anyone know the ins and outs of fitting an aftermarket exhaust and then removing before the lease is up? Would they throw up a fuss at the 1 year service?

You need to drive a 4C before you decide, in fact a Cayman as well as its nothing like a Cayman, you will either love it or hate it

Below just my thoughts

Re the Exhaust / lease Im guessing strictly speaking you shouldn't but its been done by some already, as long as you keep the old exhaust to go back on at the end of the lease I cant see the lease company would ever know. The only way they may see it is if you total the car but then as long as its insured & you have declared it to the insurer which of course you should do anyway they will pay out so the lease companies money & thats all they really care about is protected. If you didn't swap it back when you return the car that's a totally different scenario & you may well get a chunky bill when you take it back, if that happens make sure you ask for your exhaust back to ensure they have actually done the work

Re the service the dealers getting 900 of your hard earned for the first service so I cant see him having reason to want to anoy you as he wants another chunk next year. Many owned cars are modified & dealers are still happy to service them, odds are unless its the supplying dealer they wont even know.

Under EU legislation you can have the car serviced anywhere, it doesn't have to be a main dealer although the lease company may insist it is, if you can go anywhere the Alfaworkshop make a wonderful exhaust & will also service the car for less than a main dealer & they would be more than happy to see their exhaust on your car

As I said just my thoughts so research more yourself

Alfa have told me the paint code is 604/L for the Spider 50th limited edition dark wheels.

Somehow I've managed to kerb the wheels on my last 3 cars, prior to that I'd always been fine.

It looks like a fairly standard anthracite/shadow chrome type of colour. I'll ask the bodyshop next door to work if they can match it up.

Thanks. I rang the local Alfa dealer over the weekend and was told that they have no paint codes on file for the wheels, I do love how the service varies so much from dealer to dealer.

Did a quick search but can't seem to find anywhere that sells a touch up pen kit. The bodyshop next door to my office have quoted me £50 to sort out the wheel. I'm inclined to go for the DIY approach for now assuming a touch up pen/brush kit can be sourced.

This came from Alfa customer service in Italy - the info wasn't on file there either so they came back a week later once they had found out.

I will get a 1/2 litre mixed up when I get back off holiday so can put a bit in a pot for you.

£50 doesn't seem a bad price for getting it done properly. I will be amazed if you manage to get a touch up kit in that colour , might be worth paying the 50 and asking fir a bit of paint to take away just in case it happens again

Best of luck anyway , I know how frustrating it can be

Edited to add , looks like Alfaaddict may have saved you !!!!

The 604/L code was totally wrong!

The closest my local paint factors (VRS Derby) can find is code 319/B variant V078 - Alfa Romeo Grigio Anthracite.

Done a quick test spray card and it looks ok to me....

I thought this had gotten pulled as it was mis-priced. You are very lucky people to have gotten one of these.
