Hey guys, I posted in the Readers car section last week but for those that haven't seen, last week I picked up my first Alfa. It's a 147 GTA and I've wanted one for ages. I finally said to myself 'stuff it' and went ahead.

Some of the key features that it has are; Q2 slip diff, full KW V3 suspension, CF2 manifolds and equal length downpipes, winter pack and 330 brakes.

It is just fantastic to drive!

...and of course the V6 smile

Congrats! That looks fantastic. V6 in a 147... still can't wrap my head around that.

Congrats. I had one new back in 2004. It's a deeply flawed car on a number of levels, but Q2 and coilovers address a couple of the immediate problems. The engine however, is a masterpiece. I believe the 3.2 Busso V6 to be one of the greatest mass produced engines ever made. I still miss that engine.

Congratulations - I've had my 156 GTA for nearly 13 years now and still love it to bits. It's just coming up to 100,000 miles and still drives beautifully. It genuinely puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.

Fantastic car. I bet you're excited to own it. GTAs are getting rarer.anything with a Busso V6 is likely to start climbing in value if in good condition.

I bought a GT last year with the same engine. The Busso is just addictive once you raise the bar in 3rd and 4th. Agree on the flaws, mine's got a Quaiffe LSD and thinking if I can sort the suspension out and a subtle Zorst upgrade it's going to be getting there as a long termer smile

Enjoy.

Cheers guys. I think I've caught it at the bottom of the price curve. I definitely don't think I'll lose any money on it come resale time in a few years and hopefully it treats me kindly regarding servicing costs.

They're definitely appreciating now. I paid £3900 for mine four years ago, and I'd be amazed if it wasn't wroth circa £6k now, and an Alfa nut I know recently sold his low-mileage minter for somewhere north of £12k.

Yours looks like a beaut as well, congratulations!

Many congrats! Looks a stunning car and seriously under-estimated when new. Be warned though - that Busso V6 is utterly addictive, you'll find yourself longing to return if you sell it! I'm on my third GTV V6 now having tried other cars in between...... and always find myself going back. Nothing compares to that amazing engine. Even the E46 M3 engine in the Z4M Coupe I had could't touch it, and everyone bangs-on how great an engine that was. The Alfa V6 is better.

Interestingly my 147 Gta was 'OXO4', and red, but is not your car!
