Alfa Guilia Quad test driven! Mmmmm
Discussion
Had an extended test drive of one today in Derbyshire. Have to say it's very impressive. Race mode takes it to another level, rev matching, no traction control, instantaneous paddle shifts, popping crackling and banging on and off throttle and a perfectly weighted and set up suspension.
In normal mode it's a nice quiet 4 door sports saloon. It's trimmed well and has super brakes and seats. Very very tempting. I've never owned or wanted to own an Alfa but these may make me change my mind.
First year depreciation plus reliability concerns are in my mind though tbh, but I could easily live with one of these
I've looked at the spec list and getting one in the right colour with a few extra bits n bobs is looking like £65k or thereabouts based on £61k list. Anyone care to share what they paid, and who they went with?
I'm wary of buying brand new because of the depreciation hit in yr one and Two, plus read the odd comments about issues from new, but the test drive was very impressive, it's as fast on the roads as my R8, sounds cool in race mode, and felt good quality inside
I've only just got my R8 but could easily see one of these being next up!
Comments from current owners or people waiting on delivery appreciated

It's an awesome car, as you found out.
If you want it get it. I've had mine for 3 months now. No issues and makes me smile every time I look at it or drive it.
You'd be lucky to get any more than 5% discount as there isn't much margin in them for dealers but try Carwow and you'll get some prices.

Stunning cars :-)
Quite a few for sale on PH already, with price drops built in, like this one

Will be interesting to see prices in 1 yr methinks. Wondering why quite a few on sale with v low miles, will they be demo cars perhaps

Mine was an early order and, as such, fewer options were available. I went for Competizione red which looks stunning in the sunshine, carbon seats which are impressively comfortable and supportive, carbon steering wheel, red contrast interior panels, dark five-spoke alloys as EVERYONE else seemed to spec. the Teledials, Harmon Kardon speaker upgrade and adaptive cruise control.
5,500 trouble-free miles so far and I'm very happy with all these choices.
Do it!

That paint is the bees knees, but I'd like to see blue in the flesh perhaps. Been watching reviews on you tube all morning lol5,500 trouble-free miles so far and I'm very happy with all these choices.

I watch threads like these with interest as I would love a QV at the end of the year BUT why is it only a 4 seater? Is there a technical reason as I cannot fathom this decision, with 5 in the family its probabkly going to kill it off for us.
No idea, a 2 seater would work for us :-)I did sit in a 4C as I like the look but I'm too big for it tbh my head brushed the roof constantly.
No power steering was funny watching them move it out of the showroom !
The QF would tick a lot of boxes for me but I'm.watching threads on the Alfa forum now with interest and I think I'll give it a year and pick up one with some depreciation and vat savings

5 seats is available in the US and in Europe. Possibly Oz too. No consideration for us Brits.Upside, I never have to carry the inlaws anywhere.
There's always an upside Eddie I guess, but with five of us it doesnt make a lot of sense. Bizzare decision to restrict it to 4 for the UK, seems like a marleting image decision based on UK demographics. Utterly ridiculous. Back to BMW it is then which is disappointing when something genuinley new and fresh to the market like the QV comes along.

I thought it was only 5 seats in the US, not Europe.Upside, I never have to carry the inlaws anywhere.
Having borrowed a Giulia Super (with 5 seats), being RWD there's no leg room in the middle anyway. I'd say even the 5 seat version is still only 4 seats plus a child in the middle. Even then not for big dIstances. Then again, I'm tall and so is my 12 year old son.
It has been suggested on the AROC that you could spec your car at a UK dealer and then apply to the factory to have the 5 seat rear bench fitted before it leaves the line. Once it gets to the UK the registration folks should create the logbook to show 5 seats and not 4. Then you're laughing, especially at resale.
Anyway, passengers = excess weight.

I have had mine for a month now & it is brilliant - 2,000 miles of fun motoring. The drive modes are really great, although so far it has been eco or dynamic & the difference is stark. Race is waiting to 3,500 when the full beans are available! I was incredibly lucky as the dealer had ordered my spec, and it was in the showroom, so I bought it before it had been PDI'd & still managed to get a very decent discount! Talk to Dan at Meridien Milano in Portsmouth.
It is an immense car & it makes me giggle all the time ; ) Go and buy one!!!
