Good to hear your first impressions have been positive ( getting lost can be fun ) picking mine up on Thursday and after flying to East Midlands have a similar 400 miles back North. It’s been a while since first order in July and can’t remember being quite as excited about collecting a new car.

I was the same, although I have wanted an alfa for a while now. Very nearly bought a 159 3 years ago but bottled it - still regret it to this day!

400 miles north of the east Midlands must be near my way?! Yet to see a Giulia in Aberdeen. I'm enjoying standing out from a sea of Audis!

close ! LK some 30 miles short of ABZ, had my fill of boring non glitchy Merc’s last 10 years so bought Veloce on spur of moment. I have to admit that the closest I’ve been to one ( Giulia) was on opposite side of roundabout .. sorry circle ... in Dundee last Friday. Believe there is a Q.V. in Montrose bow

My white veloce spent a night in Montrose a couple of weeks ago!
Coming up to three thousand miles and a couple of months and I'm really pleased with the car. Echoing the review earlier in this thread, the handling, steering and general balance of the car are fantastic. The ride is surprisingly comfortable and it is very quiet in A mode on a motorway at 70.
The veloce is reasonably quick but there is no top end due to the rev limit being so low. It is an efficient hot hatch engine dropped into a saloon with rear drive. The engine note quickly becomes wearing in D mode.
Also I never thought I'd become such a fan of a heated steering wheel!

Nearly forgot about the wonky nav and the
persistent indicators, which I think are there to remind you that you're driving an Italian car!

Had mine a couple of weeks now and loving it. Misano Blue with Tan leather.
it compares very well with my previous Alfa’s, this being my fifth modern one, certainly better built and the ride and handling are step up from the last one a Giulietta. Performance wise I think it’s going to be slightly quicker than the 156GTA I had, but it doesn’t have the drama. Mind you the GTA wouldn’t see which way the Giulia had gone on a typical British B or C road, which is my usual haunt.
Not managing to get the fuel economy I hoped for yet, but perhaps it will improve. Best so far over a 15 mile very very carefull drive was 36mpg. The same trip driven ‘normally’ is about 33.
Not quite got my head around the indicators yet, something odd about the pressure required for a lane change.
It’s great to be back in a Petrol again too, it’s just so smooth.
I used to love my 156’s, ( I had 3) and ownership of them got me hooked on Alfa’s something which quite literaly changed my whole life as it lead onto Classic Alfas and eventually active motor sport. I’ve never quite ‘got’ any other ‘modern’ car in the same way, but I do suspect the Giulia is going to change this.

I have a red one with black leather. No options.

I love it so far.

Annoying that I cannot turn off lane departure warning, And parking sensors stay on when car is in park. Doors are quite small, but I am quite large.

Steering is great, brakes took some getting used to, lovely to drive and plenty quick enough.

Also loving the heated steering wheel.

Press the end of the left stalk, it kills the lane departure warning, stays off when you start it again too.

You can turn the parking sensors off too with the button by the light control switch but remember to turn them back on again!

Yeah read the Article, haven’t bought Evo for a couple of years now but just had to get this issue.
They really do rate the ride and handling, the more I drive mine the more I can see why too. I’d be interested to try one with the active dampers as I can’t see how they could improve the standard settings, it’s just sublime.

Alfa really have got these cars right, perhaps a nicer sound track from the Engine would bring it to perfection, but it’s not what the market sees as a priority anymore. Neither do a lot of Pistonheaders either reading that painful thread in general gassing.
A coupe and a Sportwagon would be nice.......

Considering one to replace the C220 in September.
Co Car, so will be leaseplan or lease from local dealers.

Any particular best routes on the company lease deals?
Need to persuade the boss away from the normal German stuff, so need to make it appealing.

Mine is on a PCH deal done through Unity Alfa at Oxford, they were the cheapest I could find at the time. Beachdale at Derby we’re close as we’re one of the brokers I found using a website.

All of them were using Leasys which is actually the FCA Leasing Company. I’d suggest business leasing would be equally competitive it’s just a question of shopping around.

Whether they would be cheaper than the Germans I couldnt say, once my mind was made up that I was getting a Giulia and realised the Veloce was within the self set budget I stopped comparing.

My deal was done in September since then I think the heavy subsidies Alfa were offering might have dried up a bit, they seemed to be having a good sales run on Veloce’s at that point.

Any owners able to confirm the earlier post asking whether the latest versions have android auto and apple car play? Also do they have adaptive cruise control?

Android auto and car play are com8ng, but as fas I know not here yet.
Tyre skip is a fact of life with the steering geometry, not really a problem though.
Don’t think adaptive cruise is part of the options, best check the configurator.

The only thing that puts me off the Veloce is once you've added the performance pack with the LSD you're looking at £40k.

Thanks to our genius government that means £500/year road tax... For a 2.0 4cyl turbo.

Nope.
To be honest if you are in the market for one of these then when you are spending £40k on a car already you aren’t going to give £500 a year a seconds thought, especially now you can pay monthly. My factory order has just arrived in the UK and I specced it just how I wanted it without even being aware of when I went over the threshold.

I think this whole thing about car tax is a red herring, a bit like bankers threatening to leave the UK if their pay is capped. Everyone makes out it’s going to have a noticeable real life impact but in reality I don’t think it will.

I don’t agree with that to be honest. The inference is that if you have 40k to spend on a car a small bit extra doesn’t matter. But the truth is it does.
As has been said, most people lease or PCP cars these days, when you look at how the finance is constructed they take list price, remove the discount, remove the perceived GFV, add the interest/profit and divide it by the payments. From that you get the monthlies. If you add an option, all that goes out of the window and then cost of the option, plus interest is straight divided by the payments, road tax is exactly the same. Hence the proportion of cost per option is probably 50% higher, or even more than the car itself.
Most of us have probably set a budget, then found the best model that fits that budget, adding options would in my case have blown it significantly.

Still loving this car though, the more I live with it the more I love it. It’s not just the fact it’s probably the best Car I have ever driven, it’s the little things, yesterday I discovered there are options to have a different photo displayed on the central screen to represent your mobile phone. The photos consist of nice bits of current Alfa’s but Historic shots too. I now have an evocative photo of a Giulia Sprint GTA on my screen when I’m in phone mode. I just can’t imagine any other Car Company doing that?......
