Been looking at a few of these lately as they seem a pretty good alternative to the Ford Focus and with the 1.4T petrol engine sounds pokey enough but economic too, spacious and probably cheap to insure.

I have heard of gearbox issues on the 6 speeders fitted to the 150 Sport models which in all probability is what I would go for but do any members own these Bravos or know of the things to be looking for when buying? How to tell about impending doom....does it whine in a particular gear or all gears?

Also issues with the glass roof too but I am not sure if those were optional and with aircon I would probably look for a standard car without the panaroof.

Fiats used to rust terribly but would I be right in saying that an 8-10 year old Bravo Mk2 should be fairly rust free underneath? Are the electrics a weak point?

Not too fusssed about how tuneable the T-jet might be or the M-jet diesels but more the things that can go wrong with the petrol 150T.

A few on ebay look to have had the bumpers painted in another part of the world to where the rest of the car was painted as I have seen many examples where there is a noticeable difference in the shade between the bodyshell and the bumpers.

Looking to pay around £2000-2,500 for an 07, 57 or 08 plate.
