Back in 2008, when i bought my first Fiat, hidden somewhere in the car was 'the Italian car bug'.
This was a 2008 Fiat Doblo 1.3 Multijet, Malibu spec, meaning I had heated seats, electric windows/mirrors, aircon, ...
I just sold this in 2016 with 170.000 kms on the clock (around 105.000 miles), still running perfectly fine.
I miss my little bus... Luckily, it was traded in on a new Fiat (see below).
Now, in 2013, we (= me and my wife) decided it was time to get a second car. At the time, I was driving a motorcycle to and from work.
Initially going to our trusted dealership to look at their second hand cars, we decided to spend a bit more and get this:
Fiat 500 1.2i Lounge (aircon, panoramic roof, Blue&Me, MP3-CD, ...)
Come around 2016. A visit to the dealership ended up in buying a 2016 Fiat Tipo sedan 1.4 Lounge with all the possible kit fitted (cruise, 17 inch alloys, heated seat with electric lumbar support, heated seats, satnav, ...). I had one of the very first delivered in the country after a 4,5 month wait.
I've since dropped it 3 centimetres by installing H&R coilovers.
This replaced my 2008 Doblo.
Pics as is now, after lowering the car (already have 30.000 km on it).
This one is on winter wheels.
Came around beginning of 2017, I felt another itch had to be scratched.
So I bought this as a 4-year old car with around 100.000 kms (65.000 miles aprox.) on the odo.
Abarth Punto Evo Supersport, 180 hp.
And on it's winter setup
So, what's next?
I sold the white 500 1.2 a few days ago - only to replace it with a 2015 500C 1.3 Multijet diesel, again white but with a red roof.
This wasn't the plan - but the opportunity arose to have a company car for little over 1 year (I took over the car from a colleague who got her contract terminated). I don't have it yet (it's to be picked up on january 2nd, 7 am). Will update.
Initially i wanted to keep the 500 1.2 till summer 2019, then replace it with a new Abarth 595C (probably Competizione). Now this will still happen, but in the meantime I can drop the roof already!
Much love for Fiats/Abarth (and actually Alfa's, Lancia's, ... as well) here!

Here's my one
Standard sporting with the electric webasto sunroof. Had it 8 years now and she is on 18k from new with just one little old lady owner before me ! It's been off the road now for a couple of years as I had no real use for it but couldn't bear to part with it. It's been to Le mans in 2014 and I got some funny looks whizzing down the autoroute with the roof back. Planning one getting it back on the road next year and giving it a overhaul and enjoy using it again.
Cheers
Tom
I have one of those sat on my driveway looking very sorry for itself. I think 2018 needs to be the year I either get it fixed up and back on the road or sell it to someone who will look after it better than we doStandard sporting with the electric webasto sunroof. Picked up my company-car-for-a-year today.
It's got 65.000 km's (+- 40.000 miles). Driven today for about 200 km's. Drives superbly, is very clean and has superb economy.
It has the 1.3 Multijet II diesel, with 95 hp.
Since diesel is included, I plan to get as many miles on it as possible in one year

Fortunately mine's tucked up in a garage out of the elements under cover. It's a cost thing with me can I really justify getting it back on the road and getting it sorted for the amount I will actually use it. I do miss it big time 🤔
