Somewhat weirdly. I have a set of discs and pads for a 2018 comp here as well should anyone need them
They’re about £370 a pair for the disks and over £100 for pads currently.

Sell them if you don’t need them.
Mine weren’t the floating discs so we’re somewhat cheaper I think. Pads are the same though IIRC
Mine arent the floating discs either. I’ll check the part number in the morning. I can’t be bothered to go out to the garage tonight.

Not the best picture as it was more aimed at proving I could get a full sized office chair in my car, but you can kind of see they do fold flat.
I have the drivers seat right back, if you tilt the seat forward then lower the back seats you don't need to remove the rear headrests.

I see your chair and I raise you a monkey bike!

Just thought I would update this about my 2018 Abarth 595 (145bhp) base model. It has now turned 17'000 miles:

First, the front suspension is starting to feel a little worn out and has a few more knocks and rattles. Than it used to but I am confident that it just needs strut top mounts and droplinks. All common 500 wear points and you can replace them all for less than £100 if you DIY.

Next, E10 fuel. Don't bother. I used to get a steady 35MPG daily and 49MPG on a run and since the changeover to E10 I am now getting 31MPG daily and 44MPG on a run. I also randomly lost power when flooring it up a hill and it became harder to pull away from junctions. I have now moved to Premium fuel as it is still E5 and the MPG is back as before and the power is back to normal. I had previously tried premium fuel on this and not noticed any difference which is why I had stuck with 95ron.

And finally, Rear suspension. Anyone who knows fiat 500's will know that the rear dampers kill their bushes very quickly. The base model and 160 turismo models all have "Normal" fiat 500 rear dampers with Koni FSD's at the front. you only get rear Koni FSD's on the Competitzione.

I felt an upgrade was in order as I didn't like how bouncy or crashy the rear end was so I tried to get Koni FSD's for the rear too but I could only find them as part of a full set. I then discovered the Koni Special Active damper. These are effectively generation 2 FSD's with a revised valve setup so I bought and fitted a pair to the rear...

...What a difference. The ride of the whole car is transformed now as the rear now better matches the front. It is so much smoother through bumps and ruts and, most importantly, it is not too firm!. I can now throw it into corners with much more confidence.

Those square type speed bumps kill the top mounts on these cars. They’re not quite wide enough to clear them by straddling. My specialist is doing topmounts very regularly - this part of north London seems to have abandoned traditional speed bumps in favour of these big square bds.

Around my way around rush hour people leap and jump said speed bumps with no concern at all for their cars.

It's ironic that the council put them in to protect the 3 local schools yet Mancunians locally struggle with the concept of speed.

I don't have many over here and tend to avoid them where possible. Round here, potholes and ruts are a far bigger issue...

...that and the mile long farm lane my wife drives the Abarth down on a daily basis.

So after waiting two months so far I chased the (main) dealer on my 595 order...

To be told it'll delayed another two months ontop of planned delivery to April at least. I did wonder why I hadn't even received a contract ..

I cancelled and ordered with a lease company that's £25 cheaper a month!

The wait continues!

Argh.

A friend of mine got around this by buying a normal fiat 500 dash panel off ebay and having a bodyshop smooth over the 500 and paint it body coloured. I think the whole thing was £125 including buying the panel itself.
Oooo. Is it easy to remove and refit?

Don’t exactly “just pull off”, there are 3 screws as well, 2 under the aircon control shroud/surround and one in the glovebox.

I did put a film on Wolfieswheels on YouTube of how to do it.

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to stop the fuel consumption and trip data showing on the screen? I can’t seem to work out how to do it

If you press the button on the end of the wiper stalk it scrolls through different trip options.

Hope that’s what you’re after… sorry if I’ve misunderstood
