I prefer the Sabelt and find them more comfortable than the flat Turismo seats but definitely “try before you buy” as they may not suit your shape. As regarding age I’d just buy on condition between a 2020 and 22, only thing I prefer on the 2022 Comp are the wheels…everything else is just the same bar the badging which loses the 595 bit on later cars.
You might also struggle to find the performance pack on later cars (carbon backed seats, LSD). The right colour Comps’ especially in manual Sabelt form definitely don’t hang about when they come up so I’d recommend viewing as soon as possible if it’s the spec you want.
Had mine since 2018 and have been active in the Herts community since then - yes they do get stolen (it’s not that difficult by all accounts) but nothing like the levels of the common VAG cars.
Most we’ve seen stolen are comps stripped for parts that then go into a standard fiat 500 for cheaper undeclared insurance.

I've got a Disklok for mine and use it religiously, they absolutely do get stolen but a little bit of care and you'll be fine. Yep a couple of those convicted and sent to jail were in the owners club selling parts. This problem exists with any sporty car that has shopping variants that the parts are interchangeable, fuelled by those who want to modify their cars without questioning the source.

Guess the typical Yaris hybrid owner doesn’t feel the need to add parts from your car to theirs!!! If mine goes it’s a GR Yaris for me too…was very tempted this time when buying the Comp.

They were in the national group rather than a local one. And since then there have been a few questionable “breakers” popping up. I miss my Comp and I’d have another (my wife mentioned replacing her small runaround for one the other day and she hates cars!).
But yes with the Yaris being quite bespoke there’s been only a couple of thefts in the 4+ years they’ve been on sale.

So with a few weeks mine had a Disklok and a CANPhantom fitted. The CANPhantom is pretty clever, isolating the fuel pump & corrupting the CanBus.
I’m about 600 miles in with the Goodyear F1s and they seem to be good. I haven’t been anywhere near the limit with them in the dry yet but wet weather grip seems very positive…
Out of interest, what are your cars remapped to - I’m out of warranty now and thinking of a bit of a boost. I don’t want loads more power but I’d like to raise the rev limit a bit. Have the mods affected insurance drastically?

Mine's just had a generic map, no rolling road or dyno print out.
Quoted figures are 200bhp, 230ish ib/ft.
The 'arse dyno' tells me that's about right. Remap made it more laggy but upped the boost pressure so won't be to every ones liking.
The power delivery is almost diesel like, and most dyno graphs show this. Most un-Fiat like!
I like the old school feeling it gives, I liken it to a Renault 5 Turbo with a touch screen and some air bags.

Of all the cars I've owned this is one I wouldn't ever remap, feels like 180 is more than enough especially when wringing it out on a bumpy back road. Maybe if you could get some really compliant suspension and get a fast Renault feel to it then more power would work but with the Koni FSD and whatever springs are fitted I think standard power is just right.

At 55, I agree. Even with the mechanical slippy diff, my Comp feels close the the edge on a bumpy B road. Never feels slow. I am 57 though so probably just getting old....
Aside from upgraded security & some personal touches, I’ve left it standard.
