Hi all. Just picked up a Comp as my daily. 2016 so a bit older than I originally wanted, but it's still a facelift, is clean and has only done 29k. Will post a pic when it's properly clean.

These feel really special for a cheap small car, don't they?

Cracking little thing.

Shame mines making way for a Renault 5.

Need a spare key. Best I've found so far is an auto locksmith in Birmingham at £195 flip key or £145 old-skool key!! Anyone know a cheaper way? Thanks

Yes they do, but not sure £35k is cheap for a small car!
They are one of the slowest depreciating cars as well.
Have fun in it, although it's impossible not to. Just shrug it off when the knockers that have never driven one take the pee.

Had a week in South Wales last week in the Comp, did 491 miles @ 43.5 mpg which I thought was pretty good. The Sabelts remained comfortable on the 3 hour drive West and I think my wife and I must be perfect size for them, no complaints from my 57 year old back.

The car really impressed me and I regret even more not buying one years ago, suits me (and the roads around Brecon as it turned out) a treat. I really can t see this car going anywhere and if anything I think the Alfa will go eventually.

The roads were great but I think the publicity Evo gave Wales as the perfect place to spank your car meant I saw more Police/speed cameras and long stretches of roads with temporary reduced speed limits than I see even in Hampshire.

Great break though with plenty of hill walking and the Comp certainly contributed as perfect size and power for the off the beaten track roads. The A4059 though was its perfect territory apart from avoiding the odd suicidal sheep sat in the middle of the road. Love this car

I part ex'd an Alfa Guilia for my Abarth. Whilst the Guilia is a fabulous car, I just get on with the Abarth so much more.

What is your wife's verdict as a passenger? My OH finds it very, very crashy unfortunately. So a trip like yours for us would be out of the question, sadly.

My 595C replaced an MX6 Mk3.5 which she loved. She hates the 595, too small, too hard.....

My wife doesn't mind the Sabelts, but finds the exhaust "embarrassing"...

Judas is my OH and maybe the problem is that our seats are not Sabelts?

It's more the rock hard suspension combined with the bomb-site roads. Plus, most potholes are towards the nearside of the road, meaning I get the brunt of the impacts, and the physio bills wink

I know what you mean I just love these Abarth, had and driven objectively much better cars but these just make me grin every time I drive one and like you I really get on with my Comp.

Bizarrely my wife approves of the Abarth and never complains about the suspension (she drives a Skoda Karoq for reference) or Sabelt seats. My Alfa 916 Spider she dislikes albeit for different reasons and the Alfa 159 Ti I had she absolutely detested in part because of the rock hard ride it had.

Think she overlooks it with the Abarth because ultimately she likes it too and not once during the trip did she complain about it...wives eh...

Just sold this:-

And replaced with this:-

1971 Mercedes 220D out and 2016 595C Turismo in...

This is my 'summer car' for my home in Madeira. I spend about 6 months of the year on the island, and as the weather is 'usually' good, it makes sense to have a convertible (of sorts). The Mercedes was epic, but also VERY slow and unreliable. The wife loves the Abarth, so we are on to a winner (that's if iI ever get a chance to drive it). It joins a Ford Ranger pick-up (for mountain-biking duties up in the mountains) and a Smart Car (for nipping down to Funchal and parking randomly on pavements) to make up our small Madeira fleet.

I would have loved to find a Comp. but choices are limited on the island and cars in Madeira and Portugal in general are VERY expensive. It is quite common to find cars costing 2, 3 or even 4 times what they might cost in the UK. A ropey old Porsche 996 for 70,000 Euros... that sort of thing. A 2016 Comp would be at least 25,000 Euros if you were patient enough to wait for one, or ship one over from the mainland. The Turismo should do us fine. It is low mileage (under 50k), has nice natural leather interior, xenons, interscope and so on.

Let the summer roll....

Hi all.

Basically HELP!

I’ve just been told my front dampers are leaking, but I can’t seem to find the correct match for the originals anywhere.

It’s a 2021 595 comp. Originals are KONI 8745 1275 (L&R), part nos. 51889029 & 51889960.

I can find 8745 1247 and similar nos but not a complete match. I thought I was sorted with these but apparently they’re not correct?

All advice greatfully received

I think if you go back a few pages Squadron Rossa (or similar username) got a set for his Comp, they were the updated versions of the OEM Koni FSD.
