190 and 230lb stock.

219 and 280lb after.

Very crackly now on over run. Not sure how much I like that.
Other than the crackle, happy with the gains?

The gains are great - I need to get out in it properly to see how it feels - It’s bloody quick though!

I could get my Trofeo up to 180 ish with just a remap. But would probably need some brembos for it.

Consider it. 190 was more than enough previously, I just wanted to change the power delivery a bit. These engines always seem a bit wheezy at the top end so the curve is much more linear now.
Less of that turbo shove on 3k, it comes in and keeps going.
The torque lift is impressive though.

Long discussions about how capable these engines are and they reckon the biggest problem is breathing. The front end of the abarth doesn’t allow very good airflow.
They recommend trying to get hold of a Biposto inter poker - it’s rectangular and exactly the same shape as the mesh on the front of the s4 cars. Not easy to find but much better at channeling cold air than the likes of forge and others.
An interesting chat with a guy who clearly knows his stuff!
Although I’ve known him for years through Smart tuning and other circles, I didn’t realise how much he loves these tiny Italian cars. I’m waiting for the graphs to be mailed over.

Does the Biposto Intercooler have a larger surface area over the standard twintercooler setup?

Breathing issues are usually intake related... usually!

See a lot of people dropping in an FMIC smaller than the twins and not really understanding that it’s not really doing what it should but they seem happy enough. A Biposto intake seems like the obvious start to me but I haven’t got around to looking for one or even the cost...

Sorry, I’m rushing about today - I meant breathing/cooling.

The forge and other FMIC’s are far taller than they need to be so they don’t cool as efficiently as they could/should.
Forge also stopped supplying the straight fit bracket with them so there’s a good bit of cutting, drilling and manhandling to get them in.
The front section of the bumper needs to be removed in order for them to work to their best.
The Biposto one is not as tall but is deeper - absolute rocking horse poo to get hold of though.
They do pop up occasionally but don’t hand round for long.
We discussed the issue with modding these and they’ve had a number in where people have bought whatever they think will work, fitted stuff themselves then wonder why the car runs like a bag of spanner’s.
I guess because they’re cheap to mod, people assume it’s easy to do at home.
The BMC enclosed intake is highly recommended too.

I'm just always amazed when I open up the bonnet. How they fit everything into such as small location.

Yeah - fitting pretty much anything means cutting or removing trim.

Just a quick update/heads guys up on the Filler Cap & BMC Filter that SHOULD come standard with the Competizione....... I picked mine up New on Wednesday and notice straight away tht they weren’t on the Car.
After alot of emails, phone calls etc, my Abarth Alloy fuel Cap & BMC Filter are on there way!
I’veRead alot about this online, youtube videos etc yet it seems alot of people arent familiar with this issue......basically these Cars go to the Dealerships with a standard Air Filter & black plastic lockable fuel cap in place......the Alloy cap & BMC Filter & Alloy Pedals are sent WITH the Car in a Box. Big shout out to Abarth (Italy!) for calling me back many times with updates on where my Parts actually were......

Yeah....i should have said “this is whats meant to happen!”
My thinking would be to put them on the Car before leaving the Factory or when arriving at the Dealerships.......?
Is there a reason behind Abarth not doing this? Is it a simple reason like it would be very easy for some Tea-Leaf to happily stroll into a dealership & help themselves seeing as the Alloy caps aint lockable??

Truthfully I have no idea ! FCA group have some weird and wonderful ideas. We have only had Abarth for 4 months so the only reason I knew about the caps and filter is because of here and the owners page on facebook.

Thanks for posting this. Picked up my new Comp a month ago and it has the pedals but standard filler cap and filter. Will contact the dealer and see what they say.

Dependant on what Dealership you used mate, there is varying degrees on Timed success/when you will get your Parts.......but they will be there, somewhere

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a theft thing.

They’re bloody expensive to buy!

Call the Parts department Manager at the Dealership you got it from, they’ll ask for your Reg (Chassis No: they’ll get from your Reg) ask them if its there, if not, ask them where Car was Registered (mine was Ashton) and get them to Call where it was registered......that Dealership will have your parts.
Hope this helps mate

Great gains and lovely pictures! 30bhp from just a remap does make me wonder if all the money on intercoolers and exhausts is worth it when i'm sure some are only see a few bhp more.
