It’s the locking mechanism sound I hate.
It sounds like it’s made of matchsticks. Every time I walk away and hear that cheap sound I wonder why I bother.

My own car (Mazda 6) is very quiet and keyless, and found myself having to turn back and check it had actually locked most of the time as hadn't heard anything to suggest otherwise - ended up retrofitting OEM auto fold mirrors not just for an upgrade to the car but it's a clear indication that the lock has kicked in if they are tucked ha.
Have no need to do that with the Abarth, nice bit of reassurance that they have done something when i press the button and hear that clunk.

Short version : at certain specific speeds, if you hold the speed for 5 seconds then hit the accelerator nothing happens. Not turbo lag, but no response at all.
I did mention it on this thread a while back as it kept randomly happening to me as I was leaving towns and entering NSLs, but it took me a few months to narrow down the conditions to be able to recreate the situation at will..
Mine used to do that on occasion (S4 Comp 17 plate).I did mention it on this thread a while back as it kept randomly happening to me as I was leaving towns and entering NSLs, but it took me a few months to narrow down the conditions to be able to recreate the situation at will..
Only when I really mashed the throttle from light throttle (typically when entering NSL as you say).
It’s not boost, it’s like the throttle doesn’t open, so perhaps a software glitch or even a protection strategy in the ECU (being that the throttle is of course DBW).

I also think it will be ECU related. Although I can’t see why it would be mapped like that, because hitting the gas at lower revs or in different gears at the same revs doesn’t illicit the same response (or lack of!).
I guess it might end up being a case of “they all do that sir” after all Still waiting for Abarth to get back to me.
Looking at a 24 month lease as a work car and got a quote for with maintenance and without. The difference is £774.72pa or £64.56pm. The car is a 595 Comp 70th anniversary 180hp and I will be doing 20000pa. The maintenance includes tyres, bulbs, wipers, brakes and servicing costs.
My question is In the experience of all on here at 20k pa will it save me some by taking the maintained package. I would be looking at 4 services Due to mileage. How many tyres and cost? How much in servicing cost? Pads and discs in 40k and cost?
Thanks Mike

My Competizione is nearly 3 now (I’ve had it from new) but I haven’t covered anywhere near the miles you will (currently 13k) so this might not be that helpful but here goes...
It hasn’t needed any bulbs replacing, tyres still have 5mm all round (annoyingly had to replace one Pilot Sport within first few months of ownership due to unrepeatable puncture — about £160) and it’s had two services, one £190 and one £340. Nothing else has needed doing yet, though I’ll probably put some new windscreen wipers on in the near future.

Ok so with 20k pa mileage I’m guessing it’ll need 4 services give or take over 2 years. My question is In the experience of all on here at 20k pa will it save me some by taking the maintained package. When we bought our Turismo last March we bought a 5 year service pack for I think roughy £900, this saved I think approx £400 over the cost of paying for each service over the 5 years, but our car will only cover probably 5k pa. Given the cost you indicate includes Tyres and brakes I’d say that looked reasonable value And probably worthwhile over 40k and 2 years.
Thanks all so £190;£340,£190, £340 and a 5th at £190 approx allowing for a mileage of 40,000 and 8000 service intervals is £1060. Maybe 3 sets of front tyres and a set of rears? £160 each x 8 is £1280 so I’m at £2340 without a set of pads and discs.
So £774pa (Cost of maintenance plan)x2yrs is £1548. So that’s a projected saving of £800 over term without brakes being done so that’s pretty good value even if I’ve overestimated tyre wear.
Thanks again I now need to do my man maths.....drive around in a Transit Connect Limited or a 595 comp?

I reckon it’s good value. 20k pa is a lot, so tyres will definitely need changing, as well as pads and possible discs. So £774pa (Cost of maintenance plan)x2yrs is £1548. Enjoy it. I loved mine - brilliant fun. I’d love another one

You can spec the turismo seats in the comp, thats what I did.
They are fine for mileage but it does get wearing, The fuel tank is annoying as it's so small it needs filling regularly.
Yes, range is a real PITA and combined with the fuel display caused more than a few stressful ‘economy drives’ trying to find fuel. They are fine for mileage but it does get wearing, The fuel tank is annoying as it's so small it needs filling regularly.
I forgave it though!
