Agreed I’ve heard it’s one of the loudest legal exhausts in the UK rofl
The Monza in open mode is 89 decibels. Legal limit is 94 decibels.

A f type Jaguar is 69 decibels.

Didn't say it was top. I said it was up near the top.
Or if the car has an IVA it’s 99db however Porsche gt3’s seem to get 102db at static according to PH members and I doubt they’re all on an IVA surely?

I get that it may be near the top when you count numbers but 5db in noise is quite a jump and if you were to list all the cars above the Monza the list would likely be very extensive.

However what we can agree on is they sound great coming from a cute little Fiat 500. It’s certainly what I get most comments about my car from passers by.

So Thames Abarth have advertised an Abarth 695 70th on Autotrader. The price - £31,995 !!!
Absolute madness. It’s more or less a Comp with a trick spoiler.
With sales down 36% on last year they need to be throwing more at it and lowering the price. I think they’ve got ideas way above their place in the automotive world.

Yep.

Patiently waiting for someone to start copying it.

Actually I got that wrong. It’s 30,995 , but even so, still way over the top.

I assume that in reality there will be the usual fiat discounts, given they'll have written off the design costs years ago though you'd think they would price a bit sharper. I think it doesn't even have the carbon fibre laminate seat backs? They have a very strange range at the top end now, no version seems to tick every box need an option to 'build' your own spec really.

Hi all,

Took delivery of my NEW Abarth comp in July this year

- Circuit Grey
- Sunroof
- Beats
- Black Supersport Alloys
- Side Abarth decals
- Leather seats (tan / Natural) wasn't brave enough for the firmness of Sabalts everyday - maybe an error in hindsight? but looks and feels good none-the less

Wanted one for a long time, but did not know whether I could use it as a daily after reading various forums. £17k per annum, bit in town but 80% motorway.

Not regretted it for one moment, yes a bit quirky, driving position not ideal, but what a machine, just sooo much fun and pwer for the money. Full of character, smile on my face every time - the Monza exhaust! - insane, can be very tame if you want or stick that right foot down and have some fun. Reminds me so much of the super hot hatches of the eighties Peugeot 1.9 GTI / Mark one Golf GTI - yes 50 yr old with a mid life crisis!!!

Little question on the Uconnect system though, I don't really get it and am probably not using it to its full potential. The worst thing is though, the car just does not receive calls when I am in the vehicle?! people say it just rings once and cuts out / goes to voice mail. I thought it may be my phone Galaxy S5 (old-ish phone that does not connect to Galaxy watch either - I know!) I tried connected my wifes iPhone 10 and the same happens, just cannot see what I am doing wrong. Quite annoying when people say to me I have rang you 3 times etc. with no reply

Help would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard!
Stick some pics up when you can.

Re the connect system - I’ve never figured it out. It doesn’t seem to work in the uk market. The app doesn’t like doing anything so I gave up.

The Bluetooth connection on mine is also twitchy - display says that the song is playing, details up but there’s no sound. I have to pause, play, pause then play again to get sound through.
I keep meaning to drop it in to a dealer when I get a minute.

I have the same issue with the car rejecting calls. It hasn't always done it, just started a few months ago randomly. I've since had a new phone (Galaxy S8 to S10) and tried others and its the same with all. Irritating, but also peaceful as it doesn't disturb my podcasts now!

What size system do you all have? I’m on the smaller screen non CarPlay and my phone calls work with no issues on an iPhone.

I've got the 7" version with CarPlay. Not sure if it does it when Android Auto isn't active as I always have it connected.

My uconnect works fine (well as fine as any clunky fiat system can! I have 5 inch no nav or carplay but with beats) You have to download the app, set it on your phone so that it launches when Bluetooth is connected (or launch it yourself) you have to register and associate the car with yourself, if the car is used and the previous owner haven't released the uconnect it won't work. Anyway one is connected you can use various slow and clunky apps or you can forget it and use your phone instead via Bluetooth much easier!

So...

Few issues have come up -

My monza spring looks seized.

I’ve developed a squeak. Somewhere under the passenger seat or in the footwell.

My Nav unit has been playing up for a while but now it’s taken to regularly freezing then rebooting itself.

I was doing so well!

Didn’t you wire the valve open on purchase? If it’s under warranty they’ll replace then wire it.

I had a squeak from my passenger sabelt. After 6 months I traced it to a lose torx bolt on the rails and that sorted it so worth checking.

Is the stereo on the latest update?

I didn’t wire anything open - I’m going to change exhausts at some point but all car related expense is now going into the next year.

I’ll attack the torx bolts later on today

How do I know if the stereo is on its latest update?
If not, how do I update it?

Thanks Robin.

See above! Lol.

Mines an early s4 car. Just hit 20k and other than servicing, I’ve replaced the rear discs and pads which cost less to buy than one disc on the M3.

I’ve yet to see any year Abarth with loads of miles on but I’m not sure it’ll hold up with 100k on.

I’m at 38,000 miles, the earliest S4 in the country same dealer spec as the photo.

I’ve changed rear pads once at 50% due to noise (calliper doesn’t fully retract with that amount of wear, and I’m on my 3rd pair of front tyres and 2nd pair of rears, other than routine dealer servicing that’s it so far apart from the odd very small niggle that I could sort myself like a loose bolt and hole in vacuum line.

Door handles are an issue as the cars get older and blue & me is regarded as rubbish.

37mpg is my average (I forgot to check the MPG after a lap of the Nordschleife!)

Well, after numerous phone calls and emails I finally received my aluminium pedals, BMC Filter and aluminium fuel cap for my NEW Competizione Abarth I took delivery in July this year.

The dealer said it was an error on their part and they apologised!!

With some sadness I'm nearly at the end of the road with Abarth ownership My 5.95 Turismo was a real surprise purchase and the 595c Comp which replaced it has been a great car but after two and a half years and nearly 35k miles I've decided to move away from the brand. I'm not straying far though as the replacement is an Alfa Giulia.

The ownership experience has been fantastic with Abarth, I knew nothing about how strong the owner's groups were when I bought my car but I've been to a few events with my local group, the highlight being a trip to Paris.

I will miss being able to put the roof back, the noise from the exhaust and the overall feel of driving the car but I won't miss the turning circle and little petrol tank.
