Not sure how much your deposit is but for less than £5k deposit and the same monthlies you could be in the new 4wd Yaris.
My deposit's just one monthly payment, so £314.64.

I looked at the Yaris but the finance prices were nowhere near the Abarth, and as good a car as i'm sure it is, it's not an Abarth 595 smile

EDITED to say that the Yaris on a 36 month PCP deal, 8k mpa, totals over £16k, whereas the base spec 595 Comp hatch is under £10k and my heavily-specced version is just over £11,300. Although comparing PCH to PCP isn't ideal, the GR Yaris still comes out pretty expensive.

What do you think of this car for sale:
Abarth 595 2018 (68 reg) 1.4 T-Jet 180 Competizione 3dr. Price around £15K
Almost exactly 2 years old, 7K miles, one owner. I put together spec based on photos, as car is not described in details:
bi-xenons and electric sunroof, possibly Brembo Pack, Scorpion Antenna Plug, black wheels. Standard Sabelt seats.

From what I noticed on Autotrader, sunroof is extremely rare and bi-xenons not very popular option either. I personaly don't care about sunroof but thought it could be good option to have for future sale. I saw someone mentioning it earlier.

Am I thinking right, that it's a good price?

If it’s a comp - it will have brembos.

It might have the Performance pack which is very rare.

Mine will be going soon - comp, Performance pack, bi-zenons, sunroof, 225hp. 24k 2017 car.

Acording to brochure Brembo Pack: Black (Brembo Brake Calipers, Inserts, Abarth Side Stripes and Mirrors). So it's decorative option.

Brembos should be easy to spot from the photos

Sunroof sounds like a good idea, but in practice they tend to rattle I believe

Pidsy - any news on an SLK55?

Never had an issue with my sunroof - it’s a big piece of glass though so if you had it open on a motorway- I can see where issues might happen.

I’m thinking just before Christmas in a pandemic isn’t the best time to try and sell so it’s casually up for sale through the the local club and I’m aware a few people are looking.
Absolutely decided on the 55 - primarily down to both your and Juice’s threads. Don’t want silver and not too keen on black so I think it’s gonna take a while to find one.

It's a great car. Bonkers concept, but works really well. So frustrating to have not been on a Euro trip in it this year though!

Yes, avoiding silver and black makes the search more difficult, but one will come along I'm sure.

I’m excited.
Genuinely can’t believe how cheap the insurance quotes I’ve had were.

Anyway back OT -Penelope, you need to find someone locally who can go through all your questions and let you have a proper drive. Did you get anywhere with hire?

No, I didn't find any rental car company. Was also pursuing other car in the meantime. I'm torn between another toy (Abarth 595) and daily driver (Superb). I already have Abarth 124.

Interestingly, I moved from SLK55 172 some time ago, but I did enjoy my time in SLKs, had 3 in total between 2012 and 2018. Did a lot of miles in them, mostly in Europe, in all seasons. Even used one to move temporarily to Germany and back. Now I think, that Abarth 124 is more fun to drive than SLK55, at least in the Alps.

I will think about the Abarth 595 I found. It may sell soon, because it was discounted again. But it's not properly advertised, missing spec details. I've been monitoring it for a month now, but only today discovered it has sunroof. Yesterday, I said I may seriously consider it, if it goes down in price again and it did.

Considering putting mine up for sale, as much as I love it I’m just not using it. Red Comp, Xenons, 7” Nav with CarPlay/Android Auto, Performance Pack. 12k miles. Was thinking of putting it up 16k. What do we think?
This will get taken down as all posts asking for advice in this subject do but what year?

Mines a MY18 Comp full fat auto just without carbon seat option and I was offered 12k by a MINI dealer at the beginning of the year. I declined.

Good point I hadn’t thought about that. Took my post down just in case. It’s a 2018 model

There's minimum £2K difference between trade in price and retail price.

No way £12k is a reasonable trade in value for an MY18 car.

I agree. However the options whilst make the car more attractive to a potential buyer how many are going to pay more for a carbon dash, sun roof etc?

Quick update on the progress of my order for a 595 C Tourismo...

I’ve been down the wormhole of YouTube for the past week and when I was watching StefAB in his 695 Anniversario I started thinking about my choice...

Then SWMBO walked in, saw the car and just went “phwooaarr”.

So as of yesterday I spoke to the dealer and have changed the order to a 695 Anniversario in Monza Green which should be available for collection in the next couple of weeks!

I think I’d just reached the point that the more I looked at the Anni the more I felt I needed 180 bhp and the Monza exhaust. And the Brembos. And the mechanical LSD. And the spoiler. And so on.

Dealer were very helpful and no problem changing, they will have my original car built and brought into stock. So if anyone is looking for an in - build 595C Tourismo In Campovolo grey with grey roof, red interior, red pack and Beats if you send me a pm I’ll pass my dealers contact details on.

Great move.
Stef’s car is lovely. That spoiler is lovely too.

Well, the dealer came up trumps and on Friday 30th I collected the car!

Sadly due to family stuff I’ve hardly had time to go out in it, basically have managed to get as far as the Motorist cafe in Sherburn In Elmet on Sunday but that’s about it.

Absolutely love the thing though, and am looking forward to getting some miles in once the upcoming lockdown is lifted.

Gratuitous picture for anyone whose interested...

Looks great I was going to trade mine in for one when they were released, emailed the dealer to start and they just couldn't be bothered to even quote me so I kept my comp and they lost a sale.
