4C - Where are we with prices right now?
Discussion
It's following macro in the sense that everything interesting has gone up in value under covid, but on top of that I think they're getting in the hands of their rightful owners. By that I mean people that know what they're in for (lets face it the marketing & launch was a huge failure) and are likely to be long term owners.
The aftermarket is always picking up aswell, they can be a real track weapon with a bit of investment and we're starting to see that.

Yep, agree with this. I've come to the conclusion that with a few mods it's almost the perfect track tool (whilst remaining usable day to day) when you balance costs vs. performance. That it looks incredible, has that 'specialness' and is holding value are huge bonuses on top.The aftermarket is always picking up aswell, they can be a real track weapon with a bit of investment and we're starting to see that.
I've got cash in the bank to buy one if anybody is selling at or below 40k for a later one (ideally coupe) please send me a DM.
The only thing is that there was a choice of 15+ before Christmas with a good chunk of those around 33-35k
I know a couple of really nice spec, low mileage ones sold at the low end of that range. The others got taken off.
As there are now only 9 on AT it seems like the prices have been increased through a restriction of supply associated with time of year + CV19.
I will sell mine at some point this year. She IS going, the question is just when and I’m open on that. In truth I expect she will go as part ex when I do whatever deal I do.
Mine isn’t low miles, she is used properly but one of the last ones into the country, Sept ‘17. Red over tan coupe with most of the options thrown at her. MOT and 4 new PS4s last month.

Do give me a nudge when you decide to pull the trigger. I'm still after an Exige Roadster, but 4C's are on the radar - much prefer a well used, but well looked after car than a garage queen! Private sales are pretty much no-go at the moment though, and I'd rather risk the 'Rona than pay dealer prices. Always loved these, obviously a special car. Do you owners think of it like a little supercar? It’s so much more unique than something like a Boxster or even a Lotus.
I didn’t think of mine as mini Supercar, but most people I met when I was in it did.Almost everyone thought it cost 3 times what it did, but that was also the case with my Exiges.

It doesn't quite have that aura/presence of a proper supercar but it occasionally feels like you're in one, for example driving down the motorway and seeing people taking photos of the car out their windows or breaking their necks to get a look. In a way I'm glad it doesn't have that full supercar presence because it worries me less to leave it parked somewhere then if I owned a Lambo etc.Capt. Howdy said:

Cloth seats!? Didn't even know they did that. Wrong option for this segment IMOhttps://www.lawtonbrook.co.uk/inventory/#car-listi...

That was how most ex-lease cars are spec'd, with all the cheapest options.Fair enough on a 3 series or a Golf, less so on this.

Yeah but the manufacturer doesn't have to offer cloth on what should be their flagship type vehicle.

I had cloth on my first 4c, leather on this one. Cloth were actually very good if not better than leather, especially on hot days but were harder to keep clean. I certainly would not be put off by them if the rest of the car is good. Fair enough on a 3 series or a Golf, less so on this.

Same here. My 4C had cloth and was t a bad place to be. In fact a couple of modifications and the interior looked pretty nice. One other advantage of cloth is it holds you in place better. One of the biggest issues with the 4c imo is the crap seats, the car has so much more grip than you do it’s a real battle on track to not slide out of the things! I’d love new seats and harnesses for mine but it is a bloody expensive upgrade.
Depends what you buy the car for. If you buy it as a functional sports car then cloth makes more sense. Personally to me it’s like a junior / mini supercar as it is so rare and unique looking, and the interior which takes styling hints from Ferrari is big part of that appeal so cloth wouldn’t cut it.
