The Exige 350 was top of my list too for a fun weekend car. I drove an earliy 14 plate roadster at Silverstone Lotus a few months ago, I came away very impressed and it was top of my list given my budget.
However, the Lotus felt so cramped inside, it has a pretty basic interior, you have to be a contortionist to get in with the roof on (I'm nearly 50), running it would I think be far more expensive given its weight and power relative to the 4c, It seems that the clutch can possibly be a week point on the car and at 3k to replace and with most cars in my budget outside of warranty and no option to buy a "factory" extension and Lotus in a period of change ahead (yet again) residual values could well be pretty flakey for a while.
The Alfa, just seems to offer most of the performance of the Exige, with a slightly more civilised interior, bullet proof mechanicals and with a truely lightweight package, it'll be easy on all the consumable stuf, including fuel.
Lastly it's a pretty exclusive car, it has international appeal, and with such low numbers I'm pretty confident that it'll appreciate in value over the probable next 10 years of my ownership.
Oh and it looks, drives and sounds pretty stunning too!

Interesting. In my book the Exige would always rank before the 4C and that’s how they also currently sit on my list for next fun/ weekend car.

What leads you to rate the 4C higher?
I don’t particularly rate the 4C higher, I just meant I regret not buying that particular 4C as there’s none around in that combo now.
There’s loads of Exiges to choose from though...

To the poster above - we’re of similar age, I’m 6’4 and never had an issue getting in or out of the Exige (I had 3, including a roadster).
There’s a knack to it, and once you get it, it’s a doddle smile

Is it worth hard wiring in a trickle charger given the car will probably sit in my garage over winter?
Cheers!
Well done chum. Yes a trickle charger is useful and easy to wire in given the location of the battery as the 'pig tail' connector can easily be tucked away in the engine bay.

My only wish was I was closer to Jamie's place as my experience so far of dealing with Alfa (Fiat) main dealers has been poor. Hopefully through a contact on here I can establish a good relationship with a main dealer not too far from me.

I bought mine blind and fortunately held some money back as it was not to a standard I expected with 134 miles on it - poor prep and quality control by main dealer that should have been easy to sort if you cared about customer service. As it is 200 miles from my place it won't be getting any more of my business.

Top tips: check none of the wheels are scuffed, there's no obvious untouched paint chips on it and the PPF (especially on the side sills underneath) has been properly fitted by the factory and not lifted at the edges by someone valeting it with a power washer!

As an aside I thought the red indoor car cover came as standard along with the valeting pack?

Cheers Armitage!
I was told by the supplying dealer that only the launch edition and 50th Anniversary car came with the cover, mine will come with the valeting pack etc. Does anyone know if that's correct?
Thanks for the info on the trickle charger, I'll be sorting that out shorty.
Am I right in thinking that the passenger side airbag can be disabled through the cars "settings"?

I asked about the cover when I bought mine, it's an anniversary car and I had to buy a discounted car cover as it was missing. Annoying but there you go.

I bought mine from Mango's last yr as one of their 10 specced cars. Cover came as standard with them along with the valeting pack.

Mine has never come out of the case. Dont even know where it is in fact!
The valeting case has only been opened for the gloves that I used when Im doing the rail and post fence work about the farm!

Yes, cover and care kit came as standard. It was stated as such on the Alfa configurator and came with my regular, non-anniversary, 4C Spider.

From memory passenger airbag is turned off in the settings menu which you'll invariably enter when you want to turn the warning buzzer down. If you could also turn down the volume on the indicators that would be ideal

Mine is a '67 standard car and came with cover but not sure if this was an options tick on the configurator if you bought new?

4c-forums is a useful source of info. Mainly American led but a smattering of UK/EU owners.

I purchased my 4C about two years ago. Don't really care about residuals, still love it and have no plans to sell. The car is an early 2014 model and fully loaded but not an LE. As you can see it also has the black vinyl around rear air intakes so not exclusive to the LE.

As far as I know all cars come with a cover , they are different depending on the age of the car, the Alfa badge was chainged during production so the embroider badge on the cover changed to reflect that

The valeting kit wasn’t with the earlier cars

3 years free servicing was included with my last one bought at end of May 2017 so if your cars around that age worth checking

Aha, interesting. I've only dealt with LE's or 64 plate 2014 cars so this is news to me. I wonder why they did this initially and why they changed it.

Also interesting that its vinyl. I certainly wasn't going to try and peel it off on the car I had. smile

Thanks for the information guys.

I assume it has a part number , the PPF panels do so it’s an easy add

Interesting. Does that include the additional PPF options? I want to get the front bumper and wings doing and if I can buy direct I can then find a competent firm to fit it.

Most people who fit PPF have patterns so price against Alfa PPF , I’ve just had bumper and wing re done ( scraped the garage door post ) PRATT and PPF fitter was cheaper than Alfa parts

If your near to Portsmouth I’m happy to pass on details

I checked on EPER and there is no drawing for it on the relevant parts slide and no part number either.

Thanks for the advice re cover, airbag and charger.
I'm still waiting for Alfa Romeos customer services to confirm if the car was supplied with a cover when it was new so I can ensure mine is supplied with one.
I collect my 4c on Friday. Sad day on Sunday, my Griff which I've owned for 9 years goes to its new owner.

Snooze you lose - couldn't get there today, planning to go tomorrow. This had been reduced this morning (from £37k to £35k) and was sold within hours:
http://www.sandalauto.com/used/alfa-romeo/4c/175-t...

For anyone else looking, this looks decent:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
67 plate, new lights, leather dash, sub-£40k

This has been for sale for quite a while, not sure why when it's a good price for a Spider:
https://www.auto100oxford.co.uk/vehicle-details/Al...
Might want to ask why they claim 6k miles, but the pictures show 382 on the odo?

Total of 40 for sale across AT and PH, but at least 10 of those are either deposit taken, or sold and still listed (both Platts cars, and the GTTwo cars at least are gone but still showing for example).
