Car market overall seems to in a bit of a decline, current politictical/economic climate isn't helping I suspect.. I've been keeping an eye on QF prices - a few months ago you'd be lucky to see anything below £40k, they're down to £35k already. Even the rock-solid Evora market seems to be on the slide.
Sorry to hijack but I’m curious about the Evora. Haven’t tracked prices but were residuals fairly strong until recently ? I’m tempted to test drive one!
Rock solid for the last 5 years, give or take. There's an old thread called "when will we see a £20k Evora?" from almost 5 years back:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

As per the screenshot, 2009 cars (the Launch Editions) were around the £25-27k mark. They did actually pick up past that, and anything below £25k was usually a bit of a mess, or had 6 figure mileages. You'd need near £30k for a good NA, nearer to £35k for a good S. However, the last few months has seen a bit of a dip - theres what looks like a lovely 2011 car with various extra bits for £22k (although I suspect it needs a clutch). There's a few decent looking examples for £25k (although one doesn't have the tech pack). All the cheap ones are black too, which has never been popular.

And do test drive one, they have a very high "test to purchase" ratio wink I actually bought one after the 4C fell outside of my affordability (I was too slow on the purchase!) but I can't say I regret it. The Evora is an incredibly usable, comfy car, and despite being far more usable, is almost as fun as my Elise was.

Think total production was 445 cars for the UK, so less than 10% isn’t too bad ?

Lots of those Manheim cars are trickling through to the forecourts. Anyone on the forum looking to buy?
These are amazing little cars and now is the right time to put best feet forward and negotiate hard.
Post your acquisitions please, let us folk know how you get on.....

New to this thread and not currently an Alfa owner (but did have a Spider0 and so please cut me some slack,
I use a Honda S2000 as my daily and have had it for many years but it will need changing soon. Common sense says a Cayman but I just cannot get excited about them (and very importantly neither can SWMBO). Always liked the look of the 4C, small light and modern, stands a chance of being reliable (see my other cars!) and above all interesting.
I just thought that when they dropped to £25,000 I would buy one. I haven't thought about it for a couple of years and looked yesterday and they are all still £35,000 plus.
Doesn't make sense to me and I am very surprised that they are still so expensive. I would have thought that the apparently dynamically superior Alpine would have dented values. Why spend £45,000 on a secondhand 4C when £10,000 more will get a new 2019 Alpine? Surely all the 'new kids' now want an Alpine.
I also thought that you could still get a new 4C, i have just Googled it and apparently not - when did that happen?

Good luck to all you guys that have them - what a sound buy you made. Just sad that I cannot now justify one.
Well done Alfa for making such a stunning looking car that despite lukewarm press reviews has really been very depreciation proof.
Also a bit surprised that so many for sale are such low mileage.
I was just interested in what people who know more about this than me thought.

£30k was my trigger point - there have been a couple come up at 32/33 but you'd compromise on spec to get that low so I'm still waiting. As a couple of others have mentioned there area few that have come off cheap leases that are trickling through and some more to come in the next few months. Add in a bit of winter downward pressure and I think you might just be able to get a nice one with a 20-25k miles on for around 30k.

Like you I'm after something depreciaition resistant (not depreciation proof!) - if I could buy at 30k and sell at 20-22k in 3 years then I'd be reasonably happy with that.. happy hunting!

My old car is one of the ones up for sale with Auto100. It doesn't look like they've done anything to it. 2 wheels are still scuffed, and the front number plate is still held on with cable ties. I'll bet it's still got the el-cheapo budget tyre that I stuck on there because Manheim refused collection due to a tiny bulge that I hadn't even noticed.

I was very sad to see that car go - but I'm over it now.

For anyone that does buy it - drop me a PM and I might have a gift for you.

I think (as an Alpine fan) it's that the 4C seems more exotic - CF tub and all that. And it's hard to deny that the 4C looks great; I prefer the A110 but the 4C looks much more like a supercar.

Sporky- you have probably hit the nail on the head.
I have three sons, none of whom are at all interested in cars despite (because of) my obsession.
However one of them sent a message about having just seen the most amazing car - this never happens- and what was it? In the photo it was a bright red 4C of course
I’ll keep my eyes open for one

Spider is a lovely looking car. They haven’t depreciated since last year. I’m a fan as they are fast, exotic looking and good on fuel. The problem is the steering which is totally devoid of feel. The often touted Alfaworks mods don’t fix this either.

I appreciate that if you are coming from many other modern cars the steering may not seem an issue. Next to an Elise, it’s really poor and should have been better.

The pirreli tyres fitted have a lot to answer for, cars much better on Michelin’s

I didn’t notice any difference between the original P Zeros and the PS4s she is wearing these days.

Except the Michelin’s can last 20,000 miles.

Interesting. Everyone else seems to rave about less tramlining. At least I would’ve expected PS4 to be more comfortable as they have a softer sidewall than the PZeros.

Well yes, but unless tha name is Jamie, Ben or the blokes with the black 4C from Wales, then everybody else hasn’t done 50,000 miles on the Queens highways in a 4C on these tyres.

Can you elaborate? I'm due new tyres soon and struggling to decide.

I run Mich PS4s on mine now. They last longer than the PZs.

They make bugger all differnce to the car on a daily basis in terms of handling, ride, waywardness etc. Jamie’s kit on the other hand makes a hell of a difference.

I also drive my car during snow dumps and thunderstorms on these tyres.
