4C Market Watch
Discussion
I've been tracking the 4C prices regularly this year. We've sold 5 cars in total this year. All coupe's I might ad
Since July we've seen nearly all cars on the market sold and replaced with new stock. The general public have woken up to how great the 4C is and as such I don't think we'll be seeing the same number of cars on the market as we had at the start of the year (54 cars at one point - January 2018). Many people buying them now are keeping them longer term.
We are now heading into winter where the sports car market always softens a little. Expect a few more cars to hit the market. Cars are generally selling well at the moment if the spec is right. Turn offs for buyers are smaller wheels in particular and fabric seats. Cars without parking sensors also present a problem.
February.
Average Asking Prices for the Coupe at the start of the year. - £38,829
Average Asking Prices for the Spider at the start of the year. - £47,819
Number of Vehicles on the market - 54
July
Average Asking Prices for the Coupe in the middle of the year - £41,179
Average Asking Prices for the Spider at the end of the year - £45,921
Number of Vehicles on the market - 16
November
Average Asking Prices for the Coupe at the end of the year - £38,141
Average Asking Prices for the Spider at the end of the year. - £42,877
Number of vehicles on the market - 22
Just as a side note on vehicle colour. There are a few yellow spiders that have been sat around for a while.
Launch Edition cars are retaining their desirability especially in matte Carrara white. For non LE models the Competizione Rosso is the next most popular colour. Followed by madreperla (gloss tricoat white).
Basically if you want an early car that will hold its money, you want the LE.

Good overview Joe.
We've not seen the point where the LE cars are trading significantly above a well-spec'd standard car. Indeed prices have been very similar.
When I was buying I was told to buy as new a car I could find suggesting developments had taken place where the earlier cars needed the Pitstop programme recall?
The market has yet to fully understand these cars as they've been flying under the radar for what they are and what they deliver.
