Would you buy an Integrale?

Did you sell the Lancia? I seen one listed for sale that looks like yours?
Black 1992 16v at a sports car centre in deepest Norfolk? Yep, that's mine.Bit of a backstory: I've also bought a 205 GTI that was too good to pass up, but I only have garage space for one car as I wouldn't want to leave either out on the driveway. The garage owner is a friend of a friend and he very kindly offered to store either car for me as he said they would be a great talking point for his clients as they enter the showroom.
We got chatting and I decided to sell it (and the 205 will be going shortly too). I love it BUT.... I never drive like it should be driven, so 90% of the time I'm pottering about in a 30 year old creaky car (albeit a stunning looking icon). It's wasted on me.
I'll regret it but I just don't have the time to enjoy them in the way they should be enjoyed. Been there, done that, time for somebody else to love it.
3 cars I could have bought but logic stopped me
Integrale Evo, but was rusty,
200sx, but meant a trip to Scotland and back from Warrington.
911 (964)
All were affordable at the time for sale, but I didn't, the 964 was a LHD and it was a £8k mates rate deal, still kick myself over that one

Do you live in Skye?
In all my motoring life I was only aware of one Evo and for some reason I have never forgotten it . Owned by a Couple of Italian Lads in Bletchley who had inherited a Cafe from their Grandfather it was in Broom Yellow . This would be in the early nineties when I was running an Escort Cosworth and occasionally they would raise their hand as we passed on the road . Looking back now at what is an incredible 30 years ( I hadn't realised this ) the Cosworth was viewed then as the more modern design . Viewed today however I think its the Evo that has stood the test of time better ?

The Integrale has aged beautifully like a fine wine! The Escort cosworth doesnt look too shabby either!Sometimes ultra modern car or home designs age faster! Georgian houses will always look good unlike the grand design glass eco boxes?
I am a German car guy, However Italian car design is streets ahead!
Just my opinion? Correct me if i'm wrong?

Seen a few articles recently in the media of their new car's in Octane and Evo magazine.
The Late brake show is also very good.
Apparently a very keen chap came up from London to view it with a mechanic friend. It was one of his dream cars, he loves them etc etc.
All was going well until he took it for a test drive. He hated it and is now sworn off ever owning one.
His expectations vs the reality were poles apart. I gather he thought it would be like a Group B rally car from the off, whereas it's actually a creaky old Italian shopping car that is now outclassed (at typical driving speeds) by anything else on the road bar a mobility scooter.

It's odd what people expect. The youngest ones are knocking on for 30 years old. I have had mine for 15 years. Has half the horsepower, pace and 1/3 of the interior build quality of my daily driver BUT I absolutely adore it as I don't judge it by modern standards but for what it is. Still enormous fun at sensible speeds and always makes me smile. I don't think you could judge on a short test drive either as mine really likes to be properly warmed through.
