Hi.......first post on the the Alfa forum as I'm looking to buy my first Alfa.....a Giulia Quadrifoglio.

I'm looking at used and have around £40k to spend.

I have found 2 cars I like. 1 is within my budget but has only the garages 6 month warranty (not very comprehensive). The other car is a little over budget but comes with remaining factory warranty for over a year.

My questions is, do I go for the car within budget and then add something like the RAC Platinum warranty for around £600, or do I go for the car with the remaining warranty and stretch the budget!?

Thoughts would be very music appreciated.

I would always take factory personally, I wouldn't bother with a non factory warranty personally and would just keep money aside for repairs, they wriggle too much.

Totally agree with this. Non factory 'warranties' are usually insurance based and do what insurance companies do best. As with any insurance policy some underwriters are better than others but there are a few sob stories on this site if you want to search..

Do you know if it's possible to add a factory warranty to a car without one? (Subject to having full service etc)?

If you join up to the Facebook Giulia Quadrifoglio uk owners page, they speak very highly of a deal they have arranged with MotorEasy, which is supposed to be as good, if not better than the Alfa/mopar one.

I’m picking one up soon (ironically in for warranty work before I buy it). Let’s hope it’s not an omen!

This is interesting, thank you! - I've just requested to join the group (non owners one)!

Congratulations.....what year/spec/colour you going for?

It’s a 2018 tri coat red with red calipers, dash and stitching, carbon seats, Harmon Kardon, carbon bits outside etc.

I’ll have to lower it, as it looks like a 4x4 though!

What spec you hoping to find?
