156 / 147 cruise control.
Discussion
Hi all.
I have a 03 156 which i want to fit cruise control to. While at my local car dismantler I found a 147 cruise control stalk. Thinking this would be the same as the 156, I payed my €5 and went home very happy!
Unfortunately, the connectors dont match, and worse again the wires are differant colours. This put an abrupt stop to my simple task of soldering the wires together.
There is however, 5 wires on each plug. If someone could tell me which wires go where id be very gratefull!
Otherwise, I have a cheap cruise control stalk for sale!
Ive included some photos below to explain better.
Thanks guys!
ETA: Incase its not clear,
The 156 colours are: Purple, Purple+Black, Pink+Yellow, Orange, Orange+White
147 colours are: Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green

Just an unqualified thought, but stay with me! If the stalk switches are the same layout, & the plugs mate together, would it be logical to suppose the wires on the stalk go to the same places? If so, then the wires on the car should go to the same places? So, maybe it's just the colours are different, & it may well plug'n'play? How you test that without just having a go, I couldn't say, & I don't have cruise I'm afraid. (If any of those assumptions don't work, please ignore, it's just that's worked for me with italian electrics in the past...)

Just a thought - the plugs are different - but are they in the same configuration? - ie. is it possible to just match the wires, ie:
pin 1 - pin 1 etc?
Thats exactly what im hoping!pin 1 - pin 1 etc?
Just thought that someone might have an image of it or to take a quick look at their car to confirm.
Thanks!
