A little while ago I saw my perfect Veloce at a dealer.
Vulcano Grey, black veloce badge, in fact back everything and the QF wheels. Looked gorgeous and they seemed to have it for a while. A pre reg.
I wondered if it was the red leather interior that was stopping people buying it.
I liked it but I was dithering and by the time I decided it was worth chucking 40k at it, it had gone.
Trouble is, it's the only combo I want now
I do like them with either the tan or red interior. Lifts it, to my eye. Rare though.
Probably time to take the plunge and just buy one with a Black interior if nothing else is available. I don’t think you can go wrong with a Guilia. Vulcano Grey, black veloce badge, in fact back everything and the QF wheels. Looked gorgeous and they seemed to have it for a while. A pre reg.

Had this beauty 2 months now and treated her to a detail, machine polish and ceramic coating. Giulia Veloce Ti Rossi Competizione
I had back in the day a wide body Alfa 155 in this red and always wished I had chosen the Alfa Red preferably with the black wheels. I didn’t make the same mistake when I bought my Alfa 159 years later. However with the Guilia for some reason I prefer the metallic red to Alfa Red. I did test drive a Guilia, but found the steering too fast for my mainly motorway driving and bought a 5 Series.

In March 2002, I was after a one owner 2/3 year old Ex Company Car for between £10 to £12k. I’d narrowed my choice down to an Alfa 156 (2.0 Twin Spark) Audi A6 1.8T SE or E46 BMW 318i. I went to BCA Brighouse’ Thursday sale (about 100 miles from where I live) as they always had a good range of Ex Company Cars. They had a dark metallic green Audi that was quickly dismissed as it wasn’t the SE version and it looked really basic on horrible wheels.
They had an Alfa 156 in that blue colour but was the 2.5 V6 version with the 6 Speed Gearbox and a dark blue leather interior. After much consideration (I was with my Dad) I decided against the Alfa as I’d heard that the V6 handling wasn’t the best and was a little nose heavy. Furthermore as a 29 year old with a young family, I was concerned with the V6 running costs.
I came away with a Fern Green 318i SE that turned out to be great. However, in hindsight I wish I’d got the Alfa;)

True the V6 isn't as sweet handling as the twinspark but if you tighten it up at the front with a strut and possibly a stiffer anti roll bar you can exploit it a lot better. And you can make them sound so nice!
My sportwagon is actually nicely balanced in the corners, not that I throw it around but it feels good, don't know if the rear is slightly heavier on these.

Inspired by the Alfa 159 shed article I thought it would be appropriate to show mine here.
It is a 2011 1750 TBi with a moderately tuned engine to 244 hp/ 408 Nm, which really gives it wings compared to the AWD 6V that is carrying 200 kg extra. I have been told by the previous owner that this car, being imported from Switserland is the only TI in grigio Indaco in the Netherlands.
