Jesus, I can't even imagine that amount of hp in a striker.

I've just an 1800 pinto in mine with twin carbs and it's enough for me, 330hp is just bonkers.

lol, no. Strangely RAW have a Hi-Boost Superchargered Zetec engined Phoenix as well. We are in a bit of a race to be the first to finish. They are both Omex kits but mine is a Sylva Phoenix and it has had head and cams whereas theirs is new and has a sequential box. There are pictures of my car on the Phoenix advertising material.

There looks like a long travel from the supercharger through the intercooler and back to the inlet manifold. Does that give any lag type issues?

It is a Rotrex system and doesn't have lag in the same way a turbo system would.

Nice one. Looks great in black with the anthracite wheels. Your car is my dream spec. Thanks for the pictures, and do report back if/when you do your track day or some spirited road driving. .

It'll blow you away on track compared to the Evo. I went the other way - Megabird race spec car - to an VIIRS as I needed something that I could use for the nursery run as well.

Whilst an Evo is a sledgehammer to crack a nut, a seven is a scalpel. If you're going to use it mainly on track though I would recommend a set of 13" wheels and a full cage rather than just the RAC spec version. 13" wheels make a massive difference to the handling and the tyres tend to be cheaper too.

Make sure you do an MLR day and enjoy passing everyone with ease for a 10th the cost. hehe

I think I am going to get a full cage fitted now after my track day the other day and feeling quite exposed! I wouldn't fancy a high speed crash with such little protection!
Why do you say 13" wheels will handle better? Surely there's more give in the tyre walls. I did ask about that at RAW and they said 15" will handle better.

Thanks, the wheels are 15" Team Dynamics Pro Race ( WEBSITE ). I'm not sure about the offset, but they were new with the car when I ordered it from RAW. I can find out the exact spec/price if you want.
Simply that 13" wheels + tyres are usually lighter than 15" wheels + tyres. Lower mass confers several benefits, namely: better suspension control, and better acceleration and deceleration - the wheels are essentially flywheels, heavier flywheel = slower revving. The other thing is 13" tyres are generally cheaper.

Whilst there is more give in the sidewall, the mass of the car isn't enough for it to be a problem, and the extra depth of sidewall gives a more compliant ride.

Out of interest what reasons did RAW give and do they run 13s on their race cars?
