The Sweeney Movie
Discussion
One thing springs to mind. Okay, more than one thing, but all I'm going to say is; Gene Hunt. Started out being based on the Sweeney, and ended up doing a better job than the real thing (if the trailer is anything to go by).

Think they should have left Clarkson and Hammond in it.
The car chase bits did look like he same as what the TG cameramen filmed. Mind you, I'm sure I read somewhere that TG did supply their guys to do that scene, if they have then it would make sense why they did the Sweeney episode.audidoody said:
Oh I dunno - why wouldn't you cast a white rapper with no discernible acting talent when there are any number of thousands of out-of-work actors?
Was that Carter ?God he was awful, couldn't act to save his life, mumbled every line .....and looked liked he been snorting a few too !
I really enjoyed it. It's not meant to be a serious documentary on policing in London! Plus it was made for £3M which in film terms is pretty much peanuts - running gun fights across trafalgar square would have seen Hollywood blow the budget on that scene alone! Proper entertaining brain out cops and robbers IMHO that avoids being all America f
k yeah.
k yeah.I finally got round to watching it and I enjoyed it.
Although quite obviously done on a tight budget, I liked the darker more brooding atmosphere, Ray Winstone being Ray Winstone, shoot outs, car chases, one or two good baddies, scrotes, slaaaags, what's not to like?
If you have fond memories of the original then you need to put them to one side and just enjoy the new one for what it is.
