Does anyone know what this is about??

http://ginetta-g4-g12.com/

As far as I know, there's Ginetta, that's the company to which the Walklett brothers sold the rights for the make and then there's Dare, the company operated by the Walkletts, and that was pretty much it. I'm confused.

It looks UK based to me... The website says "Copyright © 2008. Ginetta G4 & G12 (UK) Ltd. All rights reserved." and the domain record is:

Kumiko represents Tamotsu Maeda of Wary House who owns the rights to the G4 and G12.

Do you mean in Japan? Surely the rights to those cars still belong to the Walkletts?

When the walkletts sold the company to Martin Phaff the rights went with the sale they got into difficulty after a while and sold the rights to the G4 and G12 to Maeda to raise cash

I'm still confused because that would mean Dare are building G4 and G14 without owning the rights to do so (as those would be with Maeda) which surely is not the case.

Anyway, I was asking much out of curiosity, in the end it's Dare and only them who continue building those models, be it race spec, road spec, round tube, square tube, historic, continuation, or whatever.

No need for confusion. Maeda wanted his cars built by the Walkletts. No-one else has the legal right to produce Ginetta G4s and G12s.

I now understand, thanks.

I found said thread after my earlier posts on this one. Given that this thread clears up any confusion in a nice, effective and simple way, I won't add confusion by posting the link to it.
