Thought I'd better watch to see what all this fuss is about....

Yeah, it's an easy 15k on this one. Giving classic car restorers and the motor trade a good name in the process.

Mind you, I have 2 cars with rear arches Bernie could be proud of, both having been through reputable bodyshops.... with shares in Isopon.

Forget what I've just written.........I've just seen an advert for Mario Andretti's internet search/advice website. I thought I'd seen it all!

It raises my heart rate, but it's just compulsive viewing. Best comedy on the box.

They didn't do anything about the ride height, by the look of things.

Leave a manky sunroof in an E-type and then replace a Webasto in an MGB confused

God...and I thought Mike Brewer was the most annoying presenter of any car show but Bernie takes it to a whole new level!

Edit to say - he's not much of a singer either rolleyes

Sorry to hog this thread. £5k isn't too far off - I'd say about £4k knowing the quality of the work.

The valuer is apparently independent - I thought he was with RM for some reason. "Nice to see one without a Webasto" Ha! Would have cost too much to replace, you mean. What would he have valued it at if the engine had been properly overhauled?

It does the valuer no favours, so far he doesn't appear to have driven any of the cars, nor looked underneath. I wonder if Adrian Flux will agree with his professional valuation in the event that one of the lucky winners has a prang?

Don't you love it when the axel (drops out)..... Looked more to me like the springs had been cut, I mean where we're the hangers or bushes etc! And painting it? Well funny when you see it at the end all the shuts are done, under the bonnet and the engine bay, they don't mention having to take the engine out or all the ancillaries, and I mean how long does it take to cut out floor sections and if they have gone in an mgb then the sills and innerspring etc are gone as well, the show is a joke, I restore vintage and classic cars for a living and it makes people like us look bad, they should not be allowed to show and tell such lie's!!!!

Never seen such a load of rubbish as this programme - Tonight's MGB was changed to chrome bumper spec with no mention of the crossmember change to get the correct ride height. If you 'win' it in the competition you also get insurance help of £1000 - will need it when the car falls apart and kills someone! I'd not even let bernie change a light bulb on my car.

I cannot believe what I have seen, I have watched the past two weeks granted, but it makes TOWIE look like Oscar material.

A couple of questions
1. Where did the Bullet mirrors go?
2. Why when they were showing old reels of the MGB did they show a Jensen Healey.
3. Why does Bernie have to look like he is an expert when he clearly isn't (like knowing the part number which he probably asked the guy beforehand so he could look knowledgeable) and shouting oh look an Impala (Yeah Bernie I think we could have guessed that by the chrome Impala sign on the side in clear view to everyone)
4. The so called independent valuer "I prefer a car without a webasto roof", I wonder if he got to see the car beforehand and knew it was filled in to make those two
seem like they did a great job.
and lastly, why would anyone in their right mind want a car that they know has been cocked about with by those two jokers.

At least Edd China knows what he is on about.

Tonight's has to be the worst episode to date. There must have been at least 5 minutes worth of work actually shown being done to the car. Must remember NEVER to buy a car valued by Dylan Miles. I'd be sure to be paying way over the top!!!!

This was amusing, the comments here even more so. It's entertainment... It's like PH has turned into The Guardian when an episode of Top Gear is shown.

It's only a rusty old MG ffs!

This is painful to watch. (I'm on +1 but think I'm going to go to bed before sharply dressed BMW man appears.)
