One of my friends has just bought a Mk2 Golf GTI. Is there any particularly good companies he should be contacting for an insurance quote. This is a 2nd car / toy and will not be used much. He currently only has one car and therefore only one NCB.

Thanks

My Mk2 was insured on a classic policy with RH Insurance.
They always seem very reasonably priced, and are decent to deal with.

I insure my MK2 Golf GTI 16V with Lancaster Imsurance on a classic policy which also accrues NCB.

Same here, I have used Brentacre for five years now and found them to be a good bunch!

Rhodri knows his Mk2s!

Also try Footman James and Sky insurance and say you saw their advert on the mk2 golf owners club website!!!

Admiral not bad. Adrian Flux tend to be cheaper than Brentacre even though they are the same company.

Don't forget to ask for a limited mileage policy if weekend toy, lots of savings to be had there.

That is not the case.

Brentacre are a small company based in Swansea and AF a much larger company in Norfolk, both are BROKERS. This means it is possible that you may end up with a policy from the same insurer but the rates maybe different and both companies have different admin procedures, Brentacre generally NOT trying to shaft you for extra ££££ every time you make a small change or dare ask for a replacement certificate.

Hello
If he hasn't tried Flux yet and would like me to have a look at a quote, feel free to PM me some details.
Thanks
