If we could get enough people to get a batch made, I would be interested if the price is right. I looked into it a couple of months ago but was looking at £400 - £500 which was too much for me, so I got the existing one repaired - it's not great but should get a few more years from it.

All,
I think Steve Reid has a custom designed stainless system for the Vixen. I saw a couple of these at the Papplewick show and liked the look of it. I would give him a call before committing to custom builds. I dont know the price, but knowing Steve, I am sure it will be reasonable.

Is the 1600M system compatible? I know the later 711 block is a tad wider than the old Cortina block so perhaps not?
I thought the blocks were identical size, but it was the internals that were slightly changed, thicker walls or something.I believe the 1600M manifold is different to the vixen one anyway, the one on our 1600M looks different to all the vixens I've seen, I believe it's something to do with the chassis and how the exhausts route around it and the gearbox cross-member.
JP should have a pattern for a 1600M manifold, as ours was made by them (quite a while ago by a previous owner).

Has anyone asked JP exhuasts if they already have a pattern for the Vixen?
They do as I got one from them last year, having said that it had to go back as it didn't fit at all, so they made one up from my old one. Great work too.
Fitted perfectly - bit snug but it is tight in there. Be nice if there was a bit more room to polish them
