We would like to take on and train a couple of graduates in customer services and sales/marketing roles.

Where is the best place to search for such people, is there a student job forum or such like?

They would be located at a site in Luton if it helps. Thanks.

Try contacting the careers department of local Universities? Ours always had an up to date list of employers offering jobs.

Other than that, it was through careers fairs, Monster etc.

why do you need a graduate for a customer services role???

has someone really done 3/4 years of uni with 50k of debt to sit on the end of a photo??

not having a go, just curious why you couldn't find a school leaver instead?

What is wrong with older people, who have lots of life experiance and can relate to those they are talking to on the phone. Why do 'all' employers want graduates only ???

Rant over.

May be able to help! Depending on the kind of business and the location there is funding available for apprenticeship schemes which can generate some great people including graduates. If you let me know where you are and your industry I'll see if we can help.

Fell free to PM me if you prefer.

I guess you've calculated that you'll earn more than £50k more than you would without a degree over your lifetime? Bargain indeed.

Or younger people willing to learn and be employed? So many jobs these days will only consider graduates, even though the degree they have is nothing to do with the role whatsoever!! plus the fact 90% of students only go to uni to avoid going to work in the real world so they could doss for another few years anyway.

Actually a lot of Graduates will end up there as they won't have jobs lined up. It is a good point though why do you need graduates for what sounds like a telesales role?

Forget the name again, but their is a magazine for Graduates/Postgraduates which is distributed around the universities .. might lead to a higher calibre of applicants than say the job centre.

Local paper to where you are? A lot of jobless graduates currently sat at home, being nagged by their parents to get a job or leave...trust me!

We had a hard time in work a while back finding someone to replace my role when i transitioned into another. Job would have been perfect for a graduate. We posted with agencies, who were nothing short of useless (e.g. sending us waiters with no technical discipline at all). Even posted in my old uni department, nothing.
