It's a great little unit and does well in the Focus in 125PS guise.

With a touch of Mountune and 150PS in the lighter Fiesta, it should be a right giggle.

The benefits of the lighter engine than the old four pot are apparent enough in the Focus (it's much more pleasant a helm than the twice as grunty ST), so I think it'll be a belter.

Sounds great Z, I like what Ford are doing at the moment and my Mummy dearest certainly loves her Puma, she's had 3 now, so the Fiesta Zetec S sounds like a winner.

After all this she'll probably come back with something totally different hehe

Oh and my Grandfather worked at Fords, hence the Privilege.

Loon - what about a MINI of some sort? A Cooper S would be my pick of the hot hatches, in either hatch or Clubman guise.

May get lynched for it but i quite like the look of the clubman cooper/cooper s. They do have a certain something to them. I thought there were just poser crap but the OH's has won me round. Great fun to drive and thats a convertible ffs. They have an air of quality that certainly wasnt present in the fiat 500 we were looking at as an alternative.

There are, however the locals view them with suspicion.

I got 23% off a 06MY Fiesta in 2005 with it.

I think now its a cash figure as Mum got £1500 off as you said, off her ST in 2010.

They all seem to be winding there schemes back in, which is odd.

When I worked at Renualt in 2005 they were very strict on getting the F&F discount. In 2006 they changed tack and started e-mailing everyone to find out if anyone knew anyone who might know someone who'd by a Modus with 40% off

Could Joe Q not get that (or more) walking in off the street?

Did you have to sell it back to Renault (and therefore back into the dealer network)?

I think it was £2K actually.

But yes, you're probably right. I wasn't involved in it at all and she just wanted to sort it herself.

Nope. They just did a straight 40% (well, IIRC 39%) off the top spec Modus petrol. Made it a fine deal if you fancied that sort of thing

I love them but the boot is too small unfortunately in the hatch and the Clubman is not really her thing I don't think but will mention it.

About the same time Nissan made their FF deals mega a Note was about 30% off and a 350z GT was available for £21k which at the time meant you could have got out after 18 months losing nothing.

Woop woop new (boring) car day.

Made only slightly less boring by having the Focus ST 5 potter- a swift Bluefin should turn it into something fast rather than merely quick. It'll do the job I want it to, and do it very well.

It's not something I'd usually post in these hallowed pages, but at close to barge money, and a daft £3-4k cheaper than it's diesel equivalent, it just goes to highlight the smelly fuel mentality of Joseph Public, which in turn hammers down the prices of damned decent cars like this to next to bugger all.

They were doing 30% off Clio 182 Cups, meaning I could have had one in blue for £9500. I displayed the sort of car buying nouse that is only too common with us on here and bought a 4 year old Saxo VTS instead. What a tt.

Do any of us actually have any examples of us doing the car buying thing right? We cant all just have "doh" stories, someone must have a success story surely?
