I was going to put scam in the title but decided against it.

I have a basic health plan at work which is free, and I've been looking into the other higher-tier plans which this company offers. Here is an example of dental plans:

Basic plan costs £7.50 per month and you can claim back £200. So it'd cost you £90 in monthly payments, and you'd be £110 better off if you claimed for the full £200.

The top-tier plan costs £22.50 per month and you can claim back £400. It'd cost you £270 in monthly payments and you'd only be £130 better off if you claimed for the full £400.

One plan is £90, the other £270, and all for a saving of £20. Why would I possibly want to spend £180 extra on monthly payments to save myself £20?

Indeed! Are you limited on which dentist you can use?
Not a fan of plans myself!

I don't think you're limited to dentists with this particular company. I claim for private treatment on the free bottom-level plan.
