Evan Davies makes a good point about the benefits of infrastructure projects, also the issue of they take so long to deliver that the world is a different place.

One bit that rankled a little, and it's not the BBC nor Evan's fault, but the way Britain has been led. Crossrail, 8 tunnel boring machines, all from Germany. Oh Markham Engineering of Chesterfield, having built over 500 tunnel boring machines over the years, including the Channel Tunnel machines, where are you now? For more than 12 years now under housing and apartment blocks. irked
