It's not a GT-R.

I'm confused. They did make a GT-R, but that isn't one?

It's Eric Bauer's modified KGC10 Skyline GT / GT-X: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/viewtopic.ph...

A proper GT-R would be a PGC10 ( 4-door ), KPGC10 ( 2-door HT ) or KPGC110 ( C110-series 2 door HT ), all three of which came with the S20 twin-cam 24-valve straight six with triple side-draught carbs and six-branch tubular exhaust manifold. There were lots of GT-R-specific parts too.

Eric's car is something of a GT-R lookalike ( grille, rear panel / lights and cut rear arches with overfenders ) but is fitted with a tuned L28 ( SOHC 12 valve ) engine. It originally left the factory with a two litre L20A engine ( 12 valve SOHC, most commonly with a single downdraught carb )so it's been quite radically modified from its factory specs.

It's a beauty and Eric's making it even better, as the above-linked thread documents. He's taken the 'GT-R' emblems off it now....

Cheers, I didn't realise there were so many variants of that car. In any case it is a beaut and sounds phenomenal.
