Clever marketing, yey or ney?

Not really thought about it until now but went out to sandwich from Greggs at lunchtime washed down with a bottle of Coke but now rather than just grabbing a bottle of Coke of the shelf I'm faced with a dilemma. Obviously my own name was not to be seen on any of the bottles and I couldn't be arsed going through every single one to look so what do I now go for? Brett, Amie, John, or Sue, there were others but these were at the front. John, no I work with a John he might find it odd. Brett, no needs to be a girl one or folk might think I've had a change of heart regarding my sexuality. Don't know a Sue or an Amie so plumped for Aime in the end.

How many people think fk that, all too complicated, I'll have a 7UP instead. Could have put Sprite but Coca-Cola make that so win-win for them.

Am I over analysing this biggrin

Besides which who shares a bottle of Coke anyway, get your own is what I say hehe

Seems a bloody stupid idea to be honest. Shop could be left with loads of Bert, Fred, Paula and some other obscure names.

I think it's a brilliant bit of marketing, if it's not your think it's easy to ignore, but otherwise it's a bit of harmless fun - I'm yet to have wait whilst someone wades through dozens of them looking for a name or other.

I don't understand it.

Why would I have a bottle with "Share a Coke with Hoofy" on it? I'd prefer "This Coke belongs to Hoofy so fk off and buy your own."

I randomly bought a bottle this morning, upon getting it from the fridge at lunchtime I noticed it said 'Share a coke with Dad'

My dad left when I was a kid. I cried all lunchtime. WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME DAD??!?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

hehe

The story above is partly true.

There was a thing on facebook yesterday where a bloke bought 'Beautiful Eloise Will You Marry Me' on Coke bottles and put them in the fridge for her to find.

My Mrs bought me one with my name on it. Didn't taste any different to the one I bought a few days before with Sharon on the side.

I'm a bit Meh about it really. I suppose that I would look for one with the Mrs' name on it if I had time and was buying one but as she only really likes Pepsi Max it isn't likely to happen soon.

A thing? You mean a digital photograph?

BTW How did he get a coke with "Marry" on it. Is "Marry" a name? "Share a coke with Marry"? Same goes for "Beautiful", I suppose.

I bought one lunchtime, it had George on it. I thought it was Asda's own brand. Oh well you learn something everyday
