HI all,

I currently have a C7 Z51 Stingray (UK car) and have seen the following car at American Dreams Gloucester:

Does anyone know this car or have any more info? Hoping it isn't a demonstrator etc or been tracked to death...

Any help is much appreciated

Can't see any photos of the car in the ad. As you may have seen, American Dreams advertises "Euromodel" C7s on here sometimes using photos of cars at AutoHaus Steppe in Germany. If the car is from Germany (not UK dealer supplied) I would have a question about the headlights. i.e dipping to the right rather than dip to the left on a UK spec/supplied car. Guy on the Corvette club website who bought a a C7 fom Steppe reckons the solution is to adjust the passenger side headlight downwards, using the adjuster in the engine bay. Don't know if that's going to get you thru the MoT when the car is 3 years old?

Really? My C7 has flat topped beams, so headlights aren't an issue on a European C7 in the UK.

I've seen a post about adjusting the C6 headlights down, but not C7.

I have a German C7 Stingray as done a friend who imported his from a dealership in Berlin last year himself and both are like this.

Here's the thread from the CCCUK website including adjusting down the passenger headlight on a German spec car:

So if I understand you correctly, you are saying that a German/mainland Europe C7 has flat beam headlights like a US spec car? So you are not blinding oncoming drivers at night on dipped beam (they don't dip to the right?) and it will get through the MoT? If so, great/good news.

That's how it is on my C7 and my mate's car which was registered in the last month without any adjustments having to be made.

If you import a used car from the EU as an individual, DVLA insist that you still have it checked and signed off by an MOT inspector to say that the lights conform to UK regs before they will allow you to register it.

Even if the lights did kick up to the right, for a dealer in the UK bringing an EU car in and then selling it (after registering it with DVLA), he'd be on a very sticky wicket if it were later to transpire that he'd falsified any of the approval paperwork or swapped any parts before subsequently selling it to a UK customer with lights that don't conform.

In the CCCUK thread, (the first post HERE) the photo that was posted of the headlamp beams clearly doesn't have any 'kick-up' to the left or right. The beam pattern is clearly flat topped. (Many German cars such as Audi use a flat topped beam on their HID headlamps and these are sold into the UK without issue.) Providing they are aligned correctly in the first place, there shouldn't be any need to adjust them for use in the UK.
