just a little fun (I love them both) but... which is better to watch:

Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon

or

Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/Rings of Power

for me it's LoTR. I'll admit that some of the GoT plot twists have been jaw-dropping (not to mention the wyverns, sorry, 'dragons') but LoTR just 'works' for me, maybe because it's part of my childhood brought to life.

Game of Thrones (well, some seasons)... Some of the comments etc are great - The Hound when Aria kills the bloke in the pub and saves him.. Next scene she is riding a horse..

I tried rewatching GoT last year and got bored before I finished. I’ve read LotR and rewatched the movies at least once a year for 20 years. There’s a clear favourite for me..

LotR. I still remember sitting down in 2001/2002 with my best friend to watch it. I thought it was magical at 12 years old, and still do now at 33!

I couldnt rewatch GoT, knowing how it ended.

I have however, just purchased the extended LoTR trilogy in 4K for some rainy winter watching.

If you are comparing the movies to the TV shows then yes LOTR is probably better.

However, compare the two latest TV shows and Rings of Power is a distant second for me.

Haven’t watch a single minute of any of them.

Still far too early to say on the new shows. Rings of Power isn't great so far as it doesn't really get Elves and they are most of the main characters, so that is rather an issue.

In terms of LOTR. The movies have their flaws in the second and third installments, mainly where Jackson thought he knew better how the story should go, Fellowship of the Ring though is an amazingly good movie and about as good as literary adaptions get and the other two are still very good.

GOT had many highlights but didn't offer an ending, it just had some scribbled fan fiction instead. Therefore LOTR is the superior by some margin.

If you subscribe to war is an extension of politics then I suppose TWW, LoTR and GoT are much the same thing, all in a fantasy setting.
