Any idea what I spotted day near Trowbridge in Wiltshire?
It was a dull silver car that appeared to have quite a bit of MG X Power SV in it, particularly the rear end which had a very similar design. However the front end was nowhere near as fussy and it also appeared to have a logo on the bonnet which was a set of wings.
This was all from a 2 second glance in traffic so may have got some of the details wrong. It seemed to have some quite fussy front wings that looked a bit kit-car ish. Overall size and basic shape was definitely nearest to the SV.

Can anyone identify this?
If said Maserati 4200 on the rear and DVLA says registered 1968.
It's a 1968 Maserati Quattroporte 4200, Series II. If said Maserati 4200 on the rear and DVLA says registered 1968.

In fact this very one. It sold for £59,996 at auction in May 2021.

No sharing of personal information nor amateur sleuthing please.
Out of interest why not? what harm can be done by knowing the name of the bloke who owns these cars?
If it is they guy these people suggest he must have come into some serious money!

I was probably one of the few Integrale owners with a rear spoiler fitted who never raised it once during their ownership. Looks a bit “trying too hard“ to me and not at all necessary for such a vehicle.
I always thought the same! Similarly, E30 M3 Sport Evolutions with the adjustable front splitter/rear wing, don't look too bad in standard trim, but with the splitter dropped and the gurney flap on the rear wing raised they look silly to me driving on the road - fine on track though, i'm an odd soul...
