You jester As OP I exercise my right to re-post the 340i that served so well on a recent trip to southern France avec famille...

The roofbox seems really far forward, to me. I set mine back, so that the glass sunroof wasn't obscured. Pano - roof so still plenty of light flowing in.

Is there anything that says "road trip" more dramatically than this? That silhouette, with pod on top, is a contemporary classic.
We can expect to see a lot more of this sort of thing when the waters of pandemic begin to recede.
That was just before we hit the road for the South of France (flights cancelled) so it was certainly a proper ‘pandemic road trip’, and one I’ll remember fondly...

Good to see the thread alive and well.
Forgive the re-post, just finished a full paint correction and ceramic coat so I couldn’t resist…
Absolutely lovely. I'm in the market for exactly the same myself and keeping an out out for a post-facelift example in black or tanzanite blue. What engine is yours? I'll be most likely be going for a 330d unless any 330i or 335ds come into my budget. Forgive the re-post, just finished a full paint correction and ceramic coat so I couldn’t resist…

I was holding out for a G21 but they're still going for £36k+ even for 3 year old example which is madness!
They are lovely things, a true multi-role vehicle. I suspect we will retain it long-term and I’ll pick something small and sporty to sit alongside it in the next year or so.

As you say, a really good all-rounder. I’ve had mine for two years now and it’s proved to be capable in all road conditions, enhanced by the superb auto ‘box. It’s not quite as quick as my RS4 (and certainly not in wet conditions ), but otherwise generally on a par with it, though the build quality isn’t as good. My only real gripe is the awful run-flat tyres, which will be replaced with non-RFs.

I think that key is that the job of polish is to fill in the swirls in lacquer that cause cobwebbing (unless it's a mild abrasive).
well, all i know is it is multi-stage and takes a lot of effort... as well as tons of other materials, compounds, tools, techniques...I deployed all the above, hence “paint correction”
