Hopefully a few more events this year now you have the new manager. Has felt a bit lacking this year although quality as always has been high.
Yes apologies, I didn't manage as many as I'd hoped this year, it has been a lot juggling Sunday Services alongside the Annual Service, growing auctions and the rest of the day job. I've booked four for next year already, and once the new guy has started, we'll fill up even more. Onwards and upwards as they say!

There was no BMW service at the Farnborough HQ. Did they not want it this year? Will there be one in 25?
They couldn't make it happen this year but fingers crossed for 2025!

Our first event of 2025 is just around the corner next week - looking forward to seeing many of you there. The live podcast recording is sold out, but we still have plenty of space in the car park and museum for you all.

Hi Ben,

Have you looked at Great Northern Classics in Derby? They have a fair amount of parking and may well be interested? I have a contact there if you are interested.

Ross.

Thanks for the recommendation Ross, looks great! Although we typically look for venues with parking for at least 300 cars and it doesn't look like they'd have that much capacity sadly.

Hi Ben, it's looking like a strong start to 2025.

Are there any other event details you can share with us for 2025?

Any plans to get up to Scotland?
Thanks, here's what we have confirmed so far for this year:
Nothing planned in Scotland for this year I'm afraid, but never say never! We've just had a new Events & Community Manager join our team so I'm sure he'll do a much better job of packing out the calendar than me biggrin

Any early details on Festival of Speed? I remember back in the day the Pistonheads stall which maybe did 1-2 years with a few cars on display. Is there going to be more of a display as you now have a tie in with Goodwood (and assume that’s the reason for no longer allowing ticket resales).
That must have been a long time ago, as I've been here 10 years now and it has never been mentioned before! We're having a 10x10m exhibitor pitch there this year, where we'll have a number of display cars to help us promote our marketplace and sell merchandise. We'll see how it goes this year and potentially build on it from there biggrin

Have you got a pitch in a good place?
Hopefully! Excuse the 2024 map but once it's all confirmed we'll share this more formally. We're on pitch 22 next to Analogue Automotive and Dream Car Giveaways. We're aiming for three display cars to help promote the PistonHeads community and our marketplace, and will be selling merch too. Hopefully see many of you there thumbup

It would be nice to shift it to Brooklands Museum on occasion, for variation. Just a thought.
They're on our shortlist so I'm sure we'll hold an event there at some point thumbup

Have you managed to persuade anyone at Lotus to host a day at Hethel? Soon 30 years of the Elise as well. If they run a truncated factory tour and charge for it, just to cover cost of staff and security for the day, it would be worth their while. I’m
Amazed it hasn’t happened before.
Sadly not, after nearly ten years of trying, I've given up to be honest. They've never been interested and given where the company is heading now, it would be even less so. Perhaps we'll just have to host a 30 year celebration independently elsewhere!

What a shame no one at Lotus is more engaged. I assume the press department have been tried? What about emailing the Chinese CEO?
We've tried many different people but no luck sadly. I'll get Adam to try, as they've probably set me as spam by now hehe

Just to confirm, can anyone turn up on the day and park across the road? As above, I’m between cars and don’t want to take up space instead of something interesting but would like to attend.
I'm afraid not but just book a space and come along, it doesn't matter what you drive thumbup

Froomee meant in the Mercedes public car park. It's free for any visitors to park in there... normally.
It is although they want to avoid us overflowing into that car park, so ideally don't want people using it for the Sunday Service.

We do have one or two planned in the north for 2026 (we're driven by availability of venues, so try our best for a decent spread). We'll be announcing our full Sunday Service calendar next month, we're just ironing out a few final details. smile
Full calendar bow
I know, he's putting me to shame! hehe
