Spotted - SS Ute - Orkney
Discussion
Now, being in Orkney, I don't get the chance for starting a thread like this often. Not since Jeff had a blue Monaro here back in the second half of the noughties....
But this morning, that changes, having spotted a blue SS Ute on the outskirts of Kirkwall, parked up on the industrial estate. 02 plate so likely a VU. Not sure if its a visitor or someone local has acquired it, but not see it till now.

This one? Had it since the beginning of July and loving it! A couple of niggling wee jobs I would like to do but probably won't get around to doing but hopefully manage some of them!
I take it it was you who spoke to a workmate of mine?

Indeed, that one. Met you at the bottom of the Holm Branch this morning just before 8, but I was in the van and not one of the cars. And yes, I spoke to one of your workmates when I was up at the CAS. I take it it was you who spoke to a workmate of mine?
We saw it parked up on Scapa Crescent there one Sunday afternoon, so set the Monaro alongside for a comparison. Looked good the 2 of them together!

Just looking at this pic, the Monaro really needs to lose its original number plate that it rolled out of Slaters of Colwyn Bay with 20.5 years ago, and legally get a smaller imported vehicle number plate like the Hellcat has. Great pains were gone to with that Hellcat plate to make sure it complied with all the rules and regs surrounding import vehicle plate and character size. Even down to minimum margin sizes. Makes the Monaro's front plate look a bit "Fisher Price"..... As far as I am aware, the Monaro would also qualify for import vehicle plate specifications, so might be time to treat her to one too.....Windy Miller said:
Well, as it happened, you flashed me first! Hard to tell who was driving an orange 8 wheeler, and I was wondering why I was getting flashed at on the Clay Loan, but all soon became apparent!Would you be up for taking the Ute to the Classic Car Show at the mart on the 1st and/or 2nd of August? Thinking of putting the Monaro in and possibly the Hellcat. Former has not been in since 2024 and the latter, 2023, so due an appearance again. Could arrange to get the 2 Holdens together and the 'cat next to the Monaro?
