I want to have a go at making my own carbon fibre bits and pieces. Historically, Im useless at new things unless im shown how to do it.

Does anybody know of any part time/night courses I could try near reading?

Alternatively, Does anybody know any composite companies that might like a work experience chappie for a week or two?

Or- are there any very usefull resources that will be of use to me?

I have used Google but nothing beats personal experince and reccomendations.

Thanks smile

Try this site for Composite courses.

There should be plenty of composite companies in your area that specialise in F1 components. I can't name any off the top of my head but Thames Valley is motorsport valley.

On another note, having worked with CF for the last 14 years its not really something that can be done unless you have a lot of specialist tools and equipment which can run into the 10's of thousands.

You can do wet layup cheaply but components aren't really that strong unless you are only making cosmetic bits that aren't structural.
