Koenigsegg Agera R Nails Acceleration Records

Swedish supercar posts record-breaking times, but they're not official. Yet

A very fast koenigsegg...
A very fast koenigsegg...
The Koenigsegg Agera R has set a string of production car records at its proving ground in Ängelholm, Sweden, becoming in the process the most accelerative car from 0-200mph ever.

The records are as yet unofficial (though they have been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records) though that doesn't make them any less spectacular.

The Agera R managed 0-200mph in 17.68secs and 200-0 mph in just 7.28secs (making 0-200-0mph in a thoroughly impressive 24.96secs).

...and a happy Christian Von Koenigsegg

The Swedish hypercar also posted 0-300km/h in 14.53secs and 300-0km/h in 6.66secs.

Quite fast, then. Koenigsegg tells us they're preparing a video for the wilds of YouTube showing the run, which we'll bring to you as soon as it appears - so watch this space.

First post with the most obvious question, what does the Veyron Supersport do it in?

That's pretty phenomenal given that some cars on sale today won't even hit 60 in 17 seconds (and I'm sure there are some which would struggle to hit 60 in 24 seconds.

I wonder if this will beat the Ultimata 0 to 100 to 0 (unofficial) record too?

Was wondering that.

Time for a new 0-200-0 record then?

So how come this car can stop from 300km/h faster than it can stop from 200km/h ?

Edit: Scratch that, I'm confusing my mph with kph

the 300-0km/h time seems about right, hoping you have not hit something that will reduce the speed that quickly. What a dodgy number lol.
This car is amazing, don't really care for the Veyron much, even the MacLaren F1 could woop it 0-60 and further. Veyron only pulls ahead when the speeds get stupidly above 100.

It can't.

What it can do is brake from 300kph quicker than it can from 200mph which is approx 322kph.

I therefore calculate that it takes 0.62 seconds to scrub 22kph from it's speed when traveling at 322kph.

For a road car? No.
Any supercar will have you aghast at the performance and you'll buy based on what it looks like probably.
Where are you going to do 0-200? A RWYB?
It has to be the most pointless statistic ever.
