Time For Tea? Joey Dunlop On The Isle Of Man

Take a tea-break with 10 minutes of awesome TT on-board footage

There's not really much to say about this on-board video of Joey Dunlop tackling the famous Isle of Man TT course in 1983.

Legendary man, legendary course, legendary footage. And some brilliantly laconic commentary Mr Dunlop himself to accompany it all.

(A tip of the hat to the fine folks at Adrian Flux's Influx magazine, from whom we half-inched this video).

Nice footage, looks bloody rapid too.
A few sections seems very dark due to the greenery/trees.

Sadly missed, I still remember where I was when I heard. frown

I think that a lot of his charity work went unnoticed.

classic, the complete lap was on wide screens at the bike show that year, and was a first for (relative) good quality on board footage of a quick TT lap; Hislop's camera lap a decade later unofficially broke the outright lap record, and was startlingly quick; but nothing beats Yer Mans comments 'it's a bit bumpety through here' being my understated favourite..26 TT wins still the most succesful TT rider of all time.
Top guy and the ultimate modest real world, working mans hero

RIP King of the Mountain Joey

King of the Mountain - always was and always will be. A true Gent who was happy to help out any other rider in the paddock. RIP Joey Dunlop.

I've watched that clip hundreds of times and it is the very reason I gave up fast bikes. I thoguht I could ride well but until you witness the God of the Mountain, I never knew just how inadequate I really was!

So calm, and modest, but totally focussed. Such a shame he's not here anymore.

Yep, a really modest bloke! He just wanted to ride his bike... FAST!

I was just getting into bikes in the days when him and David Jeffries were battling it out at the TT and NW200.

Awesome stuff! 2 big losses those guys. frown

PS How lazy do those old bikes sound now?!
